A constructive word of advise

I've added you Dave, not so much because I feel bad for leaving you out (which I do) but because I'm pretty sure you're a good chance of being one of the people who's been so embarrassing. ;)

Can't for life of me think who or what you are referring to Hanso .. perhaps you could enlighten us (sure i'm not the only Aussie scratching his head) on who you think has embarrassed you ?? I'm genuinely perplexed who it is you are referring to.

What is it they say .. when you are pointing the finger of guilt at others just be aware there are always three fingers pointing back at you.

I would love to be there but can't. Since my company got bought by Agropur (Yoplait yogurt is one of their main products) which bills itself as a big "people company" our benefits have been cut drastically. One of the new ones is, instead of starting January 1st with your full number of vacation hours (in my case 160) we now start with zero. For each month we work, we accrue a certain number of hours. Because I have been off for 8 months fighting cancer, I have "zero" vacation time. This is time I earned last year ! In effect they stole an entire year's worth of earned vacation from us. Nice bunch eh ? Oh ya, they also hired someone for my automation job, so I've been bumped back to "*****mechanic", the job I started out in 18 years ago. They had an automation guy from one of their other plants in our plant who could have covered for me. I would love to tell them to jam it in their ass, but jobs around here are scarce. Especially if your 54 years old, and have a dubious medical history. I guess it "is what it is", thanks for allowing me to vent.

P.S. Please don't tell me I should feel fortunate to still have a job. I've heard a lot of that **** lately. Americans are so worried about losing their piece of **** jobs they are allowing companies to walk all over them. I've never been a fan of unions but now see why they were created in the first place. The pendulum has swung WAY the other way.

**** Fred, sorry to hear of all of the horrible changes at work. I think I shall change the brand of Yogurt I consume. I have been with the same Company for 29 years and am throwing in the towel December 2. I would have to say the landscape of Corporate America has changed dramatically and not in a good way. I like yourself have been satisfied working my career in a non union environment, but can hear Teamsters knocking at the door. Employees are now starting to listen.

Take care my brother!

Fred,
Sorry to hear about your job dilemma. My last 10 years in St. Louis were similar. Buy out after buy out and vacation was always the first causality. I just turned 49 and age does play a role in job finding. Good jobs anyhow.

I'm glad I made my move out here to Wyoming 2 years ago. There is no recession out here.

John

Isn't it kinda crowded though ;)

As I have said before it's a shame we all don't live closer..i would love to meet up with all you guy's..sure we take the p%ss from time to time but I have never experienced
anything hostile and have always taken it in good jest ;)
I think we have a pretty good bunch here :) long may it last

Ray

The ***** word with :D
dont mean the same as
The ***** word with:mad:
we all can type the wrong word that will make somebody laugh or get mad depending of the meaning in different parts of the world, lets put a double coat of common sense to our feelings and act accordingly, from Australia to Argentina we are all captains of our own ship, lets set the exemple:)
( You guys are welcome to write that down}:D
