55 in 2011, where to go?

I thought to post today's ride in the canadian rockies as it is probably the last of the season with an incredible 72 degres and blue sky. highway 40 through kananaski country longview and black diamond and back to calgary . after europe a bit of north- american .
asphalt is a nice change. till next year. I thought you might like it

Thanks, Patrick! I feel positively pedestrian- haven't made it west yet. Anyone else get excited by the sight of bighorn sheep? rutting alongside the highway?

The Cabot Trail in Cape Breton Nova Scotia is considered to be one of the most scenic motorcycle rides in North America.
Did this a couple years ago and it was awesome.
There are spots where 1000 foot cliffs plunged straight down to the ocean.
Its a seafood lovers delight.
I have a route map that goes from Ontario, thru Quebec and around Gaspe Peninsula and N.S. and back thru Maine and New Hampshire.
If anyone wants a map of this route just pm me your email addy and I will send it to you.
Its a H.D ride planner map so its easy to download into your GPS

Thats the stuff right there. Sounds like my kind of places.

Absolutely Excellent. Perhaps my money will still be worth something next year:mad:.

About 1500 miles and three good days travel one way :D. What's with all of the danged toll roads? We don't charge y'all to drive down here. I guess hospitality goes out the window as you venture North. Better pack some grits and sweet tea fixin's with some pork rinds for nourishment so I can survive ;). Will I be branded and invader if I speak with a Southern drawl at the border ? I'll just act like a mute and nod.

I would like to hang out and party with some Newf's, I hear that they are a lot like rednecks :):D:) and I know a few thangs about hockey and deer huntin'. Perhaps I can obtain gainful employment as a novelty speaker on the local tavern circuit, yeah.....that's the ticket.

It actually looks like a great place and I have ordered the brochures from the link and added to my "favorites", something to chew on when the weather sucks. :)Again, Thanks.

oh hum!! goats humping goats on the highway shoulder ,non event!! really.
just distracting for a few seconds let me know when you decide to go to nova scotia next year , I think I will go there too

S.C. Man I did the Rockies and worked there too. I like the country. I spent my 50th on Friday the 13th at the infamous Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado ( The Shining hotel) and because it was my B day and Friday the 13th they put me in the room that is next to Stephen Kings. Wierd things going on I mean to tell ya. That would be hard to beat along with the bull elk jousting in full rut on the front lawn while I had boar sausage, eggs and coffee for breakfast. I would not mind and Idaho-Montana swing. I am really thinking of a Southern Canada route, I can honestly say I have not set foot in Canada, yet.

I would like to ride the RAA 5 Kentucky gig too and spend a few days down in the Red River Gorge. I like riding in small groups, like two to three bikes max hence the handle on another site I don't get to much.If I could make a living between Campton and Stanton I would move there by spring. I have yet to ride North Georgia either.

I would highly tout the experience of the roads around Estes Park and staying at least one night here www.stanleyhotel.com . There is abundant wild life so caution should be excercised.
