55 in 2011, where to go?

And if you do come as far as Maine, don't forget about Canada. Quebec City and fabulous French cuisine is only a couple hours away, and Atlantic Canada to the east is fabulous New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, especially if you get as far as Cape Breton.
I wondered what Canada's "good food" was ... French. Good to know, ... because they sure can ruin a hamburger. :p

I'm sure there's places all over Canada where they can ruin a burger. Kinda like Maine, where they never heard of portion control.

Old Quebec, the walled city, has great restaurants, any cuisine imaginable, really. But I go there for the rich food and European feel on a tight budget, and only 4 hours by car. Saw Cirque de Soliel there last year for the first time. That crew is awesome!

Ozz me and the wife did skyline drive and the blue ridge parkway end to end this year for my birthday let me know I can give you the iteniary we used

Thanks Steve. I was in Lexington this past weekend and hit Ramsey's for the "Hot Brown" then Missy's Pies. Yum Yum eat em up.

I would love to ride Canada. My step grandmother was a native there. I shall look at some routes across Southern Canada if there is such a thing ;). I have been as far North as Silver Bay and Finland Minnesota and Great Falls, Montana. I always wanted to see Montana again. Lacona sounds great too. Ashley McIsaac ( spell check) is one heck of a fiddler from Cape Breton, I would be in style wearing my kilt up there, not as out of place as down here. I really wish folks were not so close minded.;)

Want to do Gettysburg and Gr3wolf, Captain C visit. DC is on my bucket list as well.

Keep em coming y'all, I like what I'm hearing.

It was what they did to the meat ... it wasn't ground ... it was pureed and molded into a patty. Had the consistency of bologna, friggin gross. I thought maybe it was just the one place, but two others had the same kind of hamburger. Must be a location thing.

That is part of the ride(s), stopping along the highway and experiencing the local foods. Every place has a specialty and some are good while others are definitely "different" but that too is part of the memories.

Before I ride out I usually do extensive research on everything. One site I check is www.roadfood.com as these folks try to hit everywhere and there is a lot of food info packed inside their site and I can always ask of the members to advise of local establishments with great specialty dishes. You should check them out as well.

Something to look out for. Hahahaha. I've never heard anything like it, but it does indeed sound gross. Where were these miserable burgers served up?

Only spent time around Niagara, so I can't say it's like that everywhere.
