RocketEd
Supercharged
Ok, the time has finally come to admit I want/need new shocks. The boing-scrape, boing-scrape thing is getting old fast.
Has anybody tried the 412s for the Rocket yet? The obvious appeal to me here is anything has to be better than stock and these are only $190 a pair.
The 418s look good too. About $30 less than the 440s and they have, IMO, a little bit more performance look to them than the 440s. They also have adjustment for rebound damping which appeals to me because it seems the rebound damping is the first thing to go when shocks wear out. Anybody tried these? If not, I was leaning towards maybe buying some to expand our experience base here.
440s - Rider and passenger geared up will be at **** near 400#, plus the weight of a touring load. You folks who have a few miles on the 440s, will the standard springs be heavy enough to give a decent ride and prevent bottoming? How is the rebound damping on these? I want to avoid the pogo effect. I hate that.
TIA for any feedback.
Thanks.
