Carpenter Race Engines - ZX-10R Packages

Has anybody taken advantage of this or does anybody know of anyone that has? It seems like this would be the ticket. And I wonder if they ever done a NEXT phase that was going to be 280 HP just by making some minor changes.
I have seen the Supercharger kit for $5,500 and I haven't seen what the cost for a turbo kit is but I think this would be a better way of gaining the horses without adding an additional maintence item or something that has to be serviced. I'm sure there are pros and cons about both.

Did you look at the power curves? This looks like a racing mod. The torque drops to <120 at 4700 before peaking at 5700 rpm.

when I talked to Bob he stated the hit 242 before they let the owner take it out for a while. Well it scared him as he still has not brought it back for more tunning there is more in her. You need to PM Art aka IMFASTTOO and see what they have done with the next generation plus I know they have Ross's aka Freaky one intercooled supercharged Rocket apart and Ross told them he wanted them to go balistic on it. I suspect big valves and cams are in his future as he wants to drag race it to hell. And if you knew what he has been going thru woth his health you would go balistic also.
Garanteed if you want to go with the .465 lift which is more the the 230 kit has it will need new larger tappits as One Fast hombre has discussed it with Bob. Walt will be going for his 200 mph license at maxton in 2010 and who knows possibly more as he is reach for 425 shaft HP larger compression forged piston Carrillo rod and he had a fuel regulator modified to squirt at 60 psi rather then the stock 43 psi. he will be building it to not just spin the blower at 9K but to run at that speed without breaking.
Walt is the ground breaker on Rockets I see him hitting at least the 230MPH speed.
If anyone can Walt will succede and if it can't be done Walt will still succede!!!!!
I can't tell you how much he has helped me increase the power on mine.
PM Art if your interested in a NAR3 with balls the size of three!

I'm not interested in top speeds of 200 mph or the peak HP needed to get there.

The Carpenter 230+HP setup shifts the peak torque over 5000 rpm, which is basically racing territory for a bike with a stock red line of 6300 rpm. What kind of mods do you have to do to keep the peak torque around 3000 rpm, raise it a lot, and keep the torque curve relatively flat through the rpm range?

Hell I'm not quite sure why would you want to muzzle the beast? Sound like you want a govenor on it. Perds had about 227 ft lbs of torque how much you looking for? and his red line was 6500 any higher and you will need a larger volume fuel pump so as not to lean out. what you need to do is feel the torque of a modified R3 I personally am the type of guy that knows once you been blown you want to be blown all the time;) Nothing like getting kick off the dyno drag cause your over riding the eddy brake system throwing sparks from the drum everywhere. hell I didn't even go with wide open throttle. I imagine after a supercharger well a stock one just has no grunt at all.

I'd like to keep the smooth torque curve I have now but raise it by at least 30 lb ft.

This torque curve from Carpenter decreases from 3700 to 4700 rpm and then takes off. Doesn't look like a very smooth ride around town.

Doug I don't no your location but if you have not been on a dyno with tuneboy you need to get a hold of Wayne trip from Power=Tripp performance a god tune could gain you the power your looking for without going drastic. Contact Regulator he had his done and increased [power and gas milage.

I think we're all pretty much "that kind of guy", warp!

Interesting thread. Y'all are maniacs (meant in the kindest way)!

Have a very happy holiday!

A bit impractical since I live in Nevada. My bike dynoed at 140 hp/150 ft lb with the TOR-cat bypass Tuneboy tune. I can live with that. My dealer is a V-Twin performance tuner but won't go near Tuneboy.

Yes those are good respectible numbers with the Tors. I had them and to be honest I sometimes miss the tripple pipes and the roar of them.

Thats exactly why I sold the D&D's and found a set of TOR's , something about that three pipe look is what makes it an R3. If there was a combination of that and Jardine headers, I'd be in hog heaven.
