Am still waiting for a Real Bike. Come on Triumph build a freaking touring bike. Your makeshift Ducati ain't working. The truth hurts don't it ? Bike is a Freaking Joke. Overpriced and under power. They are doing their best to present the bike but are losing ground quick. Sells are sliping fast. Triumph last result is a blacked out version. Good luck with that.
I road the new Xdiavel S and after having a monster 1200S was convinced only my Italian brothers could make a good cruiser. I saw the Ducati on Wednesday, just for giggles i called my local Triumph dealer (Sold me an 800 Tiger XCA last year) and he challenged my to come see the Rocket. On Thursday I bought it and it was delivered on Friday. I was 4th Rocket 3 sold by this dealer in the area. Fortunately none close to me. I hated to say it but, Triumph got it better this time. Fit and finish, options, price! The Ducati was 2K more. And my wife fits on the back! She picked the grey and ordered me the 3 exhaust heat shields + both fenders in CF! When your wife likes a bike....you get it!!

Each to their own. We should never trash-talk another's ride, even if it is a blinged-out 50cc p1sspot or a Confederate Hellcat parked in a man cave and never gets ridden. And we should play the ball, not the man - as said in rugby. I find that I mostly ride alone now, for that very reason.

I have been riding bikes for thirty-nine years now, wrenching my own (and others) most of this time. I have owned more than I can truly tell, and I am lucky enough to have seventeen (17) now. They fill my two double garages and take up more than half of my daughter's. My wife's Beemer lives under a carport and my VW van under a tree.

I grew up when Triumphs were better known for their oil leaks and electrical problems, and the CB750 had just arrived, to the detriment and eventual collapse of the entire Brit bike industry. The previous Rocket-III's never appealed to me - that was just me. But when I saw the 3R, I had to have one. It is one of my favourites now. It simply ticks so many boxes. Kudos to Triumph - they are really building some outstanding machines now. Let's hope Norton finally recovers to its earlier glory as well, as Indian did under Polaris.

Could not agree more. I love a spirited discussion around all that we love. I take none of this personally, and if someone really does not like something, they should be free to express their dislikes as strongly as their likes. Hopefully its about the bikes, not the people who ride them. I drop 2 fingers every time. Unless your passing me on a modded E-bike!!

Belt you over the ears? I would rather someday be able to buy you a beer and drink together. Never been to New Zealand. Have been every place else but there compliments of the Navy. One of these days would love to go down under and check it out. Might just do that when I retire. Would like nothing better than to visit you and Paul. Not if but when it happens will request a fishing trip during visit.

I will just tag along with @Tal when you get over to New Zealand because I for one enjoy every post of yours. Your allowed your opinion just because some Jonny come lately don't understand you he has no right to kickoff on you. At least he understands what a twats is because he sure sounds like one.

I was working on top of the house's roof the other day. I can clearly see a boulevard from there, passing us by about 100 yards (90 meters) at its nearest point. I heard this weird noise, and when I looked, it was two bikes wailing past. The penny only dropped when they had stopped at the four-way stop. It sounded awesome when they pulled away together, turbine-ish - not soft - and something else, maybe belts or the tyres - and no gear changes. There is a hotel-casino complex from where they had come - some presentation perhaps. So it could well have been Energicas or BSTs, the only ones sold in South Africa as far as I know. The e-bikes have arrived - we can just as well make peace with that and welcome them into the fold. It is only a matter of time, years not decades, before their range and charging times will be sorted to the point of them seriously challenging ICE bikes. They are much easier to ride, accelerate like dragsters and the gimmickry potential is virtually endless.
