2020+ 3GT back rest delete with modification

Hey guys, I’m new to the forum. I picked up a 2020 GT and loving this thing. But I really dislike the way the rear of the bike looked with the back rest and trying to find the filler plates. I took a leap of faith and decided to cut it off with my grinder and see if it was possible to sand it and polish it.. It was actually pretty easy to do and save myself a couple hundred bucks.

Nice job. what would you have done if you found a void in the casting after you ground it off. ha ha. Kidding, looks good. I made some fillers with some thin carbon fiber I had. I love looking at guys DIY projects.

Would have been cool to do some artistic grinding and get some little red bullet lights and make a small set of '59 Caddy fins. ha ha.

Haha! I thought about that that’s why I figured it was a leap of faith lol.. I couldn’t find anything online. How did you attach yours?

Just some double stick tape. I have a bag over it all the time that hides most of it anyway. This place has some carbon ones. Shop They specialize in Triumph carbon parts. Careful though. It gets addictive. ha ha
