Hi all,
A question (or two) for the brain trust. I installed triple K&N's tonight and masked up the claw for some cuttin. Since im still running stock exhaust (cant find Jardines) but have the triple K&N installed, would i even need a new tune? Not sure how much more air the RU-2780 K&N filters are providing over the stock plenum/under seat filter. If a new tune was needed could i go with the TOR tune to add a lil more fuel since the stock TOR tune is lean?
Thanks all in advance for the advice.

Before you start cutting - you should contact Wayne Tripp. Plus the RU2780's dont need for it to be cut - unless it's a styling thing.

The standard headers restrict top end air flow out This affects air flow in. And the K&N's flow poorly at low rpms. They do however make lots of noise.

What are you doing with the secondary butterflies? Ignition?

I would leave the bike 100% stock and just ride. Don't worry about the other mods and such just ride the bike. Maybe change the exhaust but leave everything else alone. I've been down this road you're heading and wished I had left things stock. Just ride! lol

Secondaries and ignition ill leave be. Probably wont go much further than triple K&N and exhaust for awhile. Now that i have had the joy of removing the plenum, i wont even try to re-install it without a 12pack of beer though.

I put my intake plenum back in once. That was enough for me. Ordered triples and ripped it out for good. I can safely say it will never go back in.

that grey plastic plenum could be eventually used to make one of a kind ram air intake if so inclined.

I kept mine just in case some day i want to play with dynamic air flow..

I would do a GI Pro ahead of triple K&N's. Most bang for the buck with least effort.
