Looking for opinions.. I sold a 2003 Vulcan 1500cc classic with the thought of buying a Vulcan 2000cc classic. I did some research and found that the Triumph Rocket 3 Roadster is a real bad ass. My question is about the Triumph handling vs the Kawasaki. I want to know about its handling at low and high speeds. I also plan on taking it to the Dragons Tail so I would also like to know its handling on the curves. If I can get some insight and your opinions it would be great. Thax

I had a VN1500 for a short while. Couldn't believe that it was so much slower than a VN800, or how heavy it felt. A Rocket only feels heavy at first and mostly at slow speeds. Don't feel intimidated by it but respect it's power. As for handling, I reckon a Rocket is as nimble as any cruiser. It mightn't feel like the sort of bike you can chuck around, but it is, as long as you don't forget what you're on. I just got home from a 3200km ride, much of it shall war say, spirited, and can honestly say that there was never a moment I didn't feel 100% in control.

I don't know tail of the dragon per se but do know that plenty of guys on here have done it and done it fast and I have done similar roads here without a problem. As with any bike, just don't exceed your own ability. The bike on the other hand is up to anything you throw at it.

Just took my R3R to the dragon and it ran it fine...Except for the slow harley's in front of me... LOL

I've found the Roadster to handle the road very well and with a slight twist of the throttle it will shove you down into the seat and rocket you through the corner like no other!

I did the 'dragon' with a dark side tire. Only managed to lose traction from the front . I smoked the VTX 1300 that was with us both directions. (If you're gonna ride it, do it coming and going)......

That said I managed to put it into the weeds near Ft. Worth when I was in a pack of sport bikes. All was well until we hit the tight technical stuff and I ran out of lean angle but found plenty of hard parts to scrape.

I know we are a biased group to ask but I couldn't imagine owning another bike ever again after the rocket that I would enjoy as much. Even a 1600cc crusier seems severely underpowered now. Even close to 3,000 miles in - I still smile every time I ride it.
