1967 Triumph TR6C Exhaust

Guys I finally given up on web searches for the subject exhaust. I've hit many dead ends.

Does anyone know a good source for a 1967 Triumph TR6C exhaust system. I have all the brackets but need the pipes and the mufflers. It is the left side dual high pipe. 15 years ago I could find these either in NOS or high quality Brit reproductions at any Brit bike show/swap meet but they now appear to be scarce as hens teeth.

I have very nice Bonnie/TR6R exhaust on my C model but want to return it to the original configuration.

Cal, that is very kind of you. Candidly, I don't know what they are worth now, probably plenty. If you run across a set, please let me know the price and the supplier. I could then contact him directly for the purchase.

I miss those Brit bike shows. A friend and I used to attend British Days in Olney, MD every year but the property was sold and it never was resurrected. There was also one outside of Richmond, VA but it was much smaller.

We also used to have British Isle Days on the waterfront in Norfolk, VA. We used to line up or vintage Brit bikes alongside the Brit cars. I believe that also went by the wayside. Have fun and post some pics for us.

That's an interesting site Paul. It looks like they have parts for some of the earlier vintage machines. I wasn't able to find what I need but I'll send them a note. Thank you.

Mike I don't have a parts manual for a 1967. Do you have the original Parts number? You can search Moore's Cycle for the part if you have the number. For a tiny hole in the wall place, it is remarkably organized.

Moores lists a 65-66 High pipe, TR6C # 70-4884/6 which is the pair of pipes ONLY, no clamps, no bolts and no mufflers. The list price is $239.95

Keith is very honest, I could tell you a hundred stories and I go there once or twice a month, so if you want me to look at the quality or something, I would be glad to do so. Good luck on your project.

David Gaylin's excellent book, Triumph Motorcycle Restoration Guide shows your bike on page 91 (it is the best of all time with the pipe I hoped to replicate on my Metisse, but they won't fit). The book also clearly depicts the 65-66 that Keith has pipes for, and they are the mid level, one on each side of the bike variety. Good night!

A replica of the originals, but these are made from a heavier guage steel than most of the other manufactured pipes you can purchase. This means that they last longer, and are less susceptible to light damage and colouring. These exhausts are made here in Britain, as much as possible the welds are levelled and not visible to the naked eye after chroming. The silencers are fitted with baffles where required, creating a superb sound that you would expect from motorcycles of this ilk.

Martin, while I prefer the 65-66 look with one pipe on each side, the 67 has both on the left side of the bike. I have the original service manual and the parts manual. In fact, I just looked in my things and I have the original owners and operators manual for this old thing. The numbers are the E7024/6.

I had forgotten about Moore's. I'll give Keith a call today and see what he has. I also forgot to mention that I had spoken to him about a monobloc carb, which mine once had. He told me that 67 was a transition year from the mono to the concentric so that mounting a concentric was "correct" for mine. It saved me some money.

Cammy, thank you for those several sources. I used to have a line on all the good suppliers when I lived back east. I moved out west in 1999, parked the old Triumph and lost track of everyone. I'll check out these along with Moore's.

It is also interesting that you mentioned the Thruxton. I had a '62 Bonnie configured as a Thruxton. Like all the others I've had, I regret having parted with it.
