1/8mi drag race Touring vs the GT

Good numbers Kevin. Congrats. I have the oil issue when really cranking the RPM. I blew out the dipstick once. So then I plumbed the breather into the back of the RamAir. Yeah that doesn't work to well either. FCCR call my Rocket "Exxon Valdez". Looking for a new way to vent the crank this winter. I'm open to suggestions.

Good times and speeds.

Kevin, I have no experience racing engines but I've read that using a vacuum pump to create a vacuum in the crankcase can reduce blowby gases by helping to elimate foaming in the oil. It also helps with the horsepower because the pistons do not have to compress the air in the crankcase on the downstoke which robs horsepower. I also read this helps prevent ring flutter (???) which is a power robber. I would second the use of a puke tank to catch any fluids coming out of the crankcase in the blowby gases... Try and get your vent as high up in the engine as possible... possibly drilling out the valve cover.

I also appreciate all the pics and posts you've provided. Keep it up. Great post!!!!

I would think with the dry sump systems we have on our bikes we might have some neg. pressures already and dry sumps would also reduce the foaming of the oil because the sumps are holding less oil in the pan vs. conventional oil sump systems. This would reduce oil being churned by crank and rods whipping through stored oil. I don't know anything about the vacuum pumps in this usage. When season in done. fix the reasons for blow-by. Raising the vent higher is a good idea, drag cars do it all the time.
