Does this sound like something minor (maybe something slipped/loose inside) or am I looking at a bigger teardown? Any pointers before I crack it open would be hugely appreciated.

So now the bike starts up and runs 'normally', but seems to be stuck in gear?
what happens now when you go to change gear?

If it's a trans problem then it's engine out, roll over and remove bottom crankcase in any case I'm afraid.
But remove sump before taking engine out the bike, to be sure any broken bits are removed before rolling engine over in case they fall down (upwards) into upper engine.

I can't move the shifter pedal at all, with or without clutch. even I tried with the hands.

never happened to me but do not like thinking about a rocket transmission tearing up.
i think most buy a used engine or another bike to get the parts
good luck on what you find wrong.
I have a complete engine block (in Pieces), the bottom end. I was going to rebuild it after a circlip tranny disaster that nearly took mylife. Had all the bits I needed and then saw a 2016 engine for not much more than the rebuild would have cost, and it included the head.

Also look into the detent spring, located behind the clutch basket. Search the site for more info pertaining this.

I know the bolt that loosens can cause either a floppy or completely jammed shifter.
but could be a number of things, dislocated and broken gears, broken shift fork, etc.

Only way to know is to open it up I'm afraid
yeah , I bought 4 jack stand for lift the bike and see what is broken..

I bought this threat puller Amazon.com

and sump gasket is coming tomorrow

Its a gear, its broke. If it was the infamous bolt it would just flop around. Its a broke 4th im gonna bet, or circlip dislodged either way its gotta come apart. Ive broke 3 😁 you said big clunky boots, gotta be sble to slide up under that shifter and not touch and come on to pedal unimpediate , probably know that, but our transmission like smooth and easy no clunking, with big clunky boots, clunky boots are good but clunking on shifter not good😁 heathen.
I know right... I used to drive it like my harley, not anymore. :) btw, do you think that is the gear. its an easy work beside taking the engine out? I will open the pan tomorrow when the part arrive and I am hoping for the best (that infamous bolt)
