NON Triumph Windshields... what ones will work?

I have a 2011 Roadster and LOVE it. But I'd really like a windshield, and the Triumph ones are not only way spendy ($500 for the windshield and $90 for the mounts is a tad much)... but also not the most attractive in a windshield. So... I've seen the National Cycle N28206 that Yogi and Ogre have done, and it looks great! I'm wondering about the height (I saw the pic from Yogi but it doesn't look like it was taken straight on.) And also wondering if there are other windshields that will fit? And if you have a pic to go with it please share... Thanks in advance

..would like to see more pics of that particular shield on the rocket meself..I'm using an 3" over? clearview on mine, and while it really is quite effective, as you mentioned, it is also quite unattractive..

Only problem with the clearview is you need to get the hardware, both the mounting system and the bracket parts that fit on the windshield its self... I'm looking for more of a full system, no triumph parts required. That's one of the good things about the N28206, it comes with all the hardware to mount it.

Windvest! The tallest one.Cant remember ,but its taller than the 16" they offer on their website. http://www.windvest.com/products/products.html They can be removed with two bolts.

I originally had the Triumph windshield (the larger one; not the sport shield) and fixing kit. Tossed that windshield in the garbage when I got my Clearview and re-used all of the Triumph's windshield brackets, nuts and bolts; to mount my Clearview.

I'm 6'7" tall and ride a 2010 Roadster. Ogre let me try his shield at the Packwood rally and it really is effective, especially given its size. I can't stand buffeting and for me it came down to either find a buffeting solution or sell the Roadster. Yogi/Ogre are real close.
One combination I've been told works is to buy a Triumph windshield and mounts, throw the shield away, and buy a big Clearview. But you're out about $800 by the time you're done.
I spent big bucks on the Corbin Fleetliner with a 10" shield. Horribly noisy. I tried cutting it down, and now it's down to about 4" and is still LOUD. Next I'll be drilling holes in it. I'm not looking for still air, I just don't want it to be louder than no shield. It's still loud enough that after about 30 minutes I can't wait to get off the thing.
For long distance/max weather protection I've tried adding a 17" VStream to the Fleetliner. Close, but not quite tall enough (and it looks like ass IMO)so I've ordered a 17.5" Clearview with recurve.
All of which is a long winded way of saying that in my experience if you are bothered by noise/buffeting you're better off with the Ogre/Yogi solution, going all out with a tall recurve Clearview on Triumph mounts, or buying the tiniest little bar mount that will hopefully keep the wind off your chest but leave your helmet in clear air.
Good luck in your quest. I've gone through different shields and about 2 grand in my quest for non deafening wind protection. Still cheaper than that Victory Cross Country Tour though.

I'm awaiting my fly screen (and matching belly pan) from Chris (UK based), just a plain jane gloss black one but he does all manners of art too: http://www.custom-sculpt.com/new Bike page.htm

I wouldn't be surprised if he wouldn't be interested to make a more substantial (taller / wider) screen for the more comfort seeking who need a blast shield :)

So, its been awhile but I just got the Nation cycle N28206. I'm going to do the Ogre/Yogi mod... Was 260.96 with free shipping from Dennis Kirk, INC. best part was I ordered it yesterday! I found out they are only 3 hours away from me! :p They match prices as well, so when I get other items I'll see if Kirk carries them too... No real rush to get it installed as the snow will be here soon :-( this will be added to my many winter projects... Anyway figured I'd just throw out an update.

Thanks all
