Son of the Mad Dog; Three Sisters Advice

I have ridden the sisters once a few years ago and only recall the surface can be a bit rough. One thing I have not seen mentioned is the condition of the surface and possibility of gravel or sand on the road. I’m always conscious of what the surface is like for traction or lack there of. Road debris is common on the shoulders, in the center of the lane and on the road center line. Know what you are driving on. Ask Steele.:D

Have a good time.
The route you took us on might as well been a gravel road. :p
I've never seen anything like that on the sisters.

Yep, there is gravel and sand in unpredictable places, there are rough surfaces, flying turkeys and deer come out of nowhere and the road is very narrow in some places. The road is not used much and not maintained well in some areas. It is no Dragon Gap Mecca, OK? Some of the off-the-map roads are probably used more than the asphalt by the Beemer gangs. It's the middle of nowhere Texas. The road is more suited for a truck than a Rocket. That is just part of the challenge. If you go too fast and you space out, you become part of the landscape. If you want wide, clean sweepers, you gota go Cherohala or BRP. Next summer Dr.D, maybe before that. Perhaps more than once year a few more seasons.

Welcome to the party Captain Son Of Dog.
Nice choice of wheels, be safe.

I am with @Steel the videos on You Tube are great, there are many to choose from although you will notice some conflict with ideas of how to use the front vs back brake. Use the skills you feel confident with and don't rush anything.

As others have said - practice practice practice, that is all you can do.

I think we both know that is a little too "in control" for me to be riding in those shots.

Just jokin'round brother. Some people are just amazing. First time I noticed that first hand was surfing. Some blonde kids came down from the hills in Rincon and just ripper all day. I was barely able to paddle out to the break to watch them drop in.
