It is a three wire on the Touring. Pink and the Black/Violet opposite the Pink. Yes, it's under the left side small black cover. I'm not the expert, just read these threads with interest since I'm doing the same install this weekend. Hellfire can always help you and he did Dandiego. Good luck!
 
Whoa, Nelly! I'm a Gi Pro fan.

Installed the GiPro last week but the rain had kept me from trying it out. Until now.

Yikes! This bad boy has turned my modest R3T into a bad girl! It feels as if the first three gears have opened up and allow considerably more power. I wasn't displeased with my stock Touring, but this adds a whole new dimension.

You can read all about the pros and cons on this site (several threads). But like Hellfire and others, my experience is all positive so far. I'm a fan, best $$$ I've spend on mods and accessories.

Now, I must concentrate on keeping the front wheel on the ground...
 
I have not installed mine yet, but I've been looking for a good place to mount it cleanly on my 05 Rocket. So where have you guys been putting yours? Thanks in advance!
 
I don't think the 05's have that same chrome plastic cover in the center of the gauges, at least some I've seen don't. If it does, just remove the cover and use a couple layers of double sided black foam tape prior to using the enclosed velcro (this method works well with most uneven surfaces). Easy to do and easy to remove again should you have to unbolt the gauges. Some others have been going with some kind of square aluminum clock mount that clamps to the bars. My best advice is to find where you want it before you wire it. Hell, if you don't care about the display, just put it all under the tank or seat .... the thrill is having full potential in all five gears instead of just two.
 
Isn't that the coolest thing ever? Like having a new bike you are already familiar with. Triumph should have thought of this first and used it to sell bikes.

I mean I am not mechanically inclined but short of pulling wires out of every connector to check whether or not the neutral light gets turned off there 's got to be a better way . till some wise electronic wizard show me the way on this forum the little gizmo will stay on the shelf ,,,Unfortunately.

all that was needed was to know the precise location of said connector..
