Winterizing with mice

hey guys, well my new r3t is ready for its first winter and I have to keep it in my garage because it ain't gonna fit thru my basement door like my Nomad did. I used to like to fiddle with the nomad in my cellar over the winter, and never had to worry about mice or anything.
The Rocket is just too big so it'll have to sleep in the garage. I have mice in there on occasion. They love to get inside my tool cabinet drawers and drop their poops.
I did buy a couple of those plug in ultrasonic things. I hope they'll help. Any other suggestions as to what I can do to keep the little critters from nesting in my bike? I am worried about what they are capable of doing.

If it's the bars that won't let it through the door I would just take them loose, wrap them in towels, lay them on the bike, push the bike through the door and re assemble. Sounds easy don't it?

Mully, I don't think I want to take the bike apart every winter. Maybe I'll lease a half dozen cats

A couple of nights ago at about 9pm it was starting to get a bit chilly so I decided to try out some cold weather gear I bought. I returned home secure in the knowledge that my gear would be sufficient to keep me comfortable no matter the temperature. After arriving home I actually checked the temp and it had zoomed down to 60 degrees. So much for that test, lol. Well sooner or later it will get cold.

I spray verything down with lemon pledge as for some reason mice do not like lemon. To be safe I always put out some HAVOC mice poison near the garag doors and any other place I think them buggers might come in. That way you kill them before they get a chance to multiply.

NO POISION just lemon pledge keeps them away from the bikes cars and everything else

It appears being aggressive with the traps and making some plugs or putting some steel wool in the exhaust are your best option. The biggest problem with mice is with electrical wiring insulation. They seem to like to chew on that including spark plug wires. I did some research and the things that I was going to suggest like mothballs, ammonia and peppermint oil are not considered effective. With that said, they were not effective with getting rid of mice, but they may help with keeping them away from your bike. I would be less inclined to use poison mice food like Decon. Although it may kill them, attracting them with any type of food around does not seem the best choice in keeping them out of the area. I keep my bike I a cargo trailer that is sealed very tight. Some dampid to remove moisture, a fan to circulate air, a heat lamp and sometimes a small heater on low seems to work well for me. It's not only the mice that should concern you but also the moisture. That is the biggest problem because it will cause your chrome and rims to develops pitting. I know because I have seen it happen with several bikes I kept nicely covered in the garage. Might I suggest some ACF 50 to prevent that from happening. A good washing in the spring and you will be ready to go. Check it out on the Internet. Good luck!
