It's mainly for my small carbureted engines. The small amount of fuel sitting in the bowl evaporates and turns to varnish easily. This plugs up the jets and orifices, and since I'm a generally lazy individual ... a little Stabil is easier than a carb kit.
Larger volumes of fuel take longer to break down, and injected engines don't have the fuel exposed to the air (other than the tank). So I usually only add it to the bike if I know it's going to sit with the same fuel in it for along time (worst part of the winter).
