Yeah Hooter mine was the same and the little castrol sticker has been put on with such aggressive adhesive I'm nervous about damaging the paint getting it off.You can use what you want as long as its JASO-MA rated. That means its wet clutch compatable. I prefer Rotella 15X40 and Mobil 1. I used both in all my Harleys without any issues. Someone here said Triumph went to Castrol and they are right. I had Castrol stickers all over my Touring when I bought it. For this bike (touring) I think I will use Mobil 1.
My motor with the Castrol is quiet and hope the Mobil will be too. The Rotella never made any noise either. Good stuff and I run it in all my fire trucks. IF it can take that hammering it has to be good.
Anyway .... my dealer saved himself some money by putting in cheap oil. But in truth I didn't mind, as there is a theory that for the first few thousand miles you should use a mineral or semi synth oil. I've done 5,500 miles now and am about to change it for the Castrol Power Racing 1
