i know through doing a search there's been plenty on this topic, i've just lost the will to live trolling through them all, but. progressive 440's seem to be the favorite and also a bit over budget for me. i've seen some 430's and hagon nitros at about the same price also 412's alot less, all within my limited fund. i ride 99% of the time 2 up with a combined weight of around 320lbs. i do sprout horns far too regularly and these stock shocks are gonna kill me one day if i don't bin em. i've had the r3 for a year now and the novelty after years of H.D 's has'nt worn off yet. maybe the shocks are part of the reason sports bikes don't get past on corners, cos i have to use all the road:eek:. anyway all advice will be gratefully recieved.
make ?
model ?
hd or not ?
maybe 12"

G'day mate, not knowing your budget but Fournales Magnums for a Rocket are 650 pounds ( or whatever your currency is these days) in the UK. Over here the exact same shocky costs $1800. Fournales are a great shocky.. just thought i'd add to your confusion :p

If you want 12" shocks, there is some 12" 440s for sale in the classifieds.
You will need to do the front springs as well to get the full benefit.

I have tried Progressive 412 Standards at stock length and wasn't impressed. They were too soft for 2 up riding, bottoming out on occaision.

I now run Triumph's "Comfort" shocks. I ran across a pair on Ebay cheap, so I thought I would try them. They are perfect. I hope all the new Rockets come with these shocks as standard. They look exactly like the stock shocks, but the spring rate is just enough softer, and the rebound damping is MUCH improved.
