Once again thanks to everyone who replied to my tyre dilemma.
I am now curious about the suspension setup. I am not trying to ride it like a sports bike but i do like to push through the corners. I sometimes get a slight wallow in the rear when holding the bikes line. its not to unsettling but i was wondering if someone could offer me any advice on weather the standard suspension is adequate or would a good set of aftermarket shockies be a good investment.
I do not ride it like I stole it or try to hang with the sports bikes.
I weigh 110kgs (244 pounds)
This is a great forum I very glad I found you guys.
Graeme,
I'm inclined to suggest the progressive H.D. 412 series in 12" configuration. The reason being, your heavy enough to utilize the H.D. configuration and the cost is easy to live with. If you decide you like them, then you could always upgrade to a 418 or 440 series later on. You'll find the rear shocks can make a huge difference right away in handling confidence.
I'm in the same weight range. I've ridden the stock shocks for two years now. The suggestions to go with Progressives out number, by far, those who like myself simply crank up the tension a notch. I run a dark side rear skin and have found no dissatisfaction with the stockers. $0.02 The subject is certainly not new.
I have to agree with the progressive route. All accounts of magazine articles submit wallow in corners as the main issue with this bike. Suspension was my 1st upgrade when I got my bikes and it solved that problem. Stocks shocks are good for 2up in my opinion.
I'm replacing the stock shocks on my R3T with YSS shocks. They have more adjustments than the Progressives, and the customer service from Klaus at EPM Performance is outstanding. I'm used to putting Ohlins on BMW's so the price doesn't seem so outrageous.

Terrific stuff, but insanely expensive and difficult to find dealers here for ATVs. Wanted to run a full set on my YFZ450... then saw the price tag. Wound up running custom Elka.
Progressives are a huge improvement over the standards, though! My Rock grew noticably sharper in the corners after the addition of the 440s.
95 percent of the time I ride two up would the highest setting on the shocks be the way to go?? would I be losing something by using the highest setting???
