FUEL GRADE
Your triumph engine is designed to use unleaded fuel and will give optimum performance if the correct grade of fuel is used . Always use unleaded fuel with an octane rating of 95 RON.
so based on this and the results you guys have found i will change from 98 to 95
but i aint going near the 91
also id just like to add my manual came with my 2009 model rocket 3 standard
don't know why dealers recommend 98 when the owners handbook says 91. The guy that built my drag car motor and also services the R3 told me that with a motor with as low compression as my R3 (standard) that anything over 91 is a waste and makes the motor run hotter.
I used to run 98 ,I seemed to recall getting further on a tank of fuel .i have been running 91 for a couple of years now and it does the job just fine
I just checked my manual for my roadster and it states 91 only, I asked my dealer and he said never use 95 they have an additive in it that they hate and will cause damage if used all the time, he went on to say that 98 is ok but a waist of time and money. I have used 91 and it's fine and 98 and there is stuff all difference in it but I must say I run 98 bp as it's a cleaner fuel and it runs cooler.
