What is the thing that looks like a cat or collector box in this picture of a 2012 roadster exhaust set up? Anyone know impact of removing with bypass of some sort?

I'm looking at the roadster slip-on made by Shorty in uk which says it eliminates cat but slips on the box in picture.

Cat box either its filled or a hollow look a like depending on its weight. As for what would happen if you get rid of it. Well first a noticable power increase once the proper tune is installed and then a fuel mileage decrease from screwing the throttle to hard to often. Oh and you face will begin to hurt from the seet eating grin you will have :D
That about sums it up !!!
