What is the best way to cut/trim the Bearclaw?

CRAP Will,
$94.00 for an overflow?
Do what I did, go to Walmart and buy an aluminum water bottle for $10.00
Use you old hoses and a drill bit and save yourself a few bucks.
But then maybe I'm just cheap.
Naw, that can't be it, I just spent $185.00 on headlights,
and haven't even got the bracket started yet...
Haven't decided if I'm gonna cut this clearview windshield and make it work yet or not...

I'm still looking around. I agree, that's pricey....

Just swapped the hoses around on my OE one, & relocated it behind the left side panel.. total cost? nil.

It FITS behind the left side panel....? Really? Can you take a pic on how you mounted it?

I don't have a pic, & my bike is being rebuilt ( Carpenter head), but it's pretty obvious once you shove the bottle in. Little bit of wiggling & secure thru it's natural screw hole with a plastic tie strip. All you do is swap the overflow hose( long one) & the rad input hose( short one) around, & route the drain straight down.

Did you notice the second poster on that link Will? That guy, XHDSKIP sure gets around.

Shhhhh, Joe,
I was at a totally different triumph site about 7 PM CST last night for about an hour.
Shot the breeze for awhile with some guys we all know.
Making plans, you know.
you should have joined in.
an you got to admit, BadTriumph did do a sweet job.

Ahhhhhh..... Crap! :pullhairout:

Ain't gonna work. I've been out in my shed screwing around with the OEM overflow tank... trying to get it to mount behind that left side cover. I can "force it" but it would be really tight, and I just don't want to jam it in there. Believe me, I tried all possible angles with it.

I probably am going to do the Moroso recovery bottle thing; posted earlier above in this thread. Still going to look around though for a better bottle perhaps....

...or I'll do what Skip did and go to Wal-Fart and buy a water bottle, and engineer it cheaply.

every penny you save on that overflow bottle
is a penny you can spend on something else...
MORE BLING for your buck,
that's my theory anyway.
Hence a set of $185.00 headlights...

Well, I have this coming:

...and will follow same install IAW with this guy's modification:

.... it'll be a cleaner install then trying to jam that OEM tank under the sidecover. The row of relays under that side cover are interfering with it's relocation, as well as the edge of the airbox. I wonder if there's a difference in space between the Classic and the standard Rocket models; or years produced.

At any rate, I will start trimming the BearClaw today. For once, I sort of appreciate this weather (winter) we are currently having. Makes it easier (mentally) to leave my bike disassembled for days on end, while I get all this work done.
