What do you guys think about chaps??

I had checked with a local saddle/leather shop long time ago and the lady there told me it would be more expensive and trouble to do that than if I was to have them make me one from scratch.

Looks like this thread is about dead but for what it's worth: I've been a chaps guy but this yr I decided to give some Joe Rocket riding pants a try. I like them alot better. These have zippers from the ankle to the pockets on the outside of the legs. This allows fitting over ANY boot. It has a velcro flap over the zippers, zip up thigh pockets, back zipper for jacket attachment, warm because of no front and back openings and of course wather "resistant / proof". Face it, the warmest clothing will "never" be leather. It's just like your skin, it eventually turns the same temperature as the air hitting it. My warmest jacket is a light weight Frank Thomas jacket. I'll wear my leather for looks but when it comes to cold weather riding, I put on the textile clothes.

Oh...I forgot, the Gerbings don't hurt either! hehe
