What did you do to your Rocket today?

Love the orange but wrong shade on the grill and belly pan. Can you get the same shade as the bike to match better ?
Yeah, it's not quite right but it was all they had in peelable orange around here. The stock paint has some flake in it too.

It might look a little better clear coated with some gloss.

I can respray it if I find a closer match or re-do it with real paint with the OEM code.

I had a 1974 Honda 750 I purchased new in 1974 as a teen. It was the flake orange they had in 1973 and 1974. I was called Flake Sunrise Orange. It was a candy color using a silver flake base and the candy color coat and then a clear top coat. I needed to repainted my bike as it was parked in the sun most days and the tank faded a little. I just got the candy top coat and very carefully taped up the tank and shot it with the rattle can product. Then shot it with a clear top coat. It turned out so well you could not tell it had been repainted. Matched the side covers nicely too. It turned out so well I even repainted another bike a few years later using the same paint system with the base coat and a clear top coat.

today I had a momentary severe lack of memory. I'd forgotten what a complete ballache cleaning a Roadsters wheels are. Two minutes in, I remembered.
i removed the passenger footboards (not my thing) and will put the original pegs back on when the Exhausts go back on tomorrow morning.

Oh I also made a simple bracket which has allowed me to mount my tom-tom smack bang in centre just above my clocks. Bit of a shimmy to put the key in the ignition but i could always modify it too move my clocks forward a touch.

Resprayed my bulldog screen and pan and clear coated them. I got a little closer match. Good enough for now.

Installed a new clutch cable - there was one cord frayed so it pulls in much easier now.
