Water Temp Sensor

Hi Folks:
I just did siome major work on my bike. Runs great except for two things. First the idle is at 2000 RPM. Want to run a 12 minute tune except my fan will not kick on.
I jumpered theough the relay plug and know that it is pluged in and works.
The next thing I would like to check is the water Temp sensor. Only problem is I can not find it. Idea is to check and clean theconnector.
If this does not work I will have to rig in a on/off switch.

In the circuit diagram of the complete system,
it's #19.
Shows to be right behind #17, the 2nd throttle potentiometer, and #18, the throttle potentiometer,
but in front of #20 which is the oil pressure switch.
I'd say in the neighborhood of the ECM and it has two wires ..

Left front of the engine in the head.

Connect to the ECU using TuneECU. Use the diagnostics and tests.

Test the fan for operation, then look at the engine temp with it running. If it gets higher than the fan is set to start at, and the fan does not come on, then you need to find out why.

You also need to make sure the coolant level is full (in the radiator, not the overflow reservoir). You may have some air in the system.

There is a bleed bolt on the head as well to remove all air in the cooling circuit.

the semsor is to the lower right of the thermostat housing about 5 Oclock the bleed out bolt Goth is refering to is at 12 Oclock right above the thermost housing. Be careful Even though my 06 head has it the casting plug shifted during the pour and it does not open to the plug. The 07 head I have was casted right and it does work. On my 06 head I lean the bike over to get as much coolant in it then after riding a while I check and add if needed. I do not check my overflow bottle as once theradiator is full it does not ever send overflow coolant to it, nor does it loose coolant.

That is a bit of a worry Scot, maybe there is air trapped in the head that acts like a gas pressurized over flow ? Can you drill the bleed bolt hole without damaging anything ?
Have you had head gasket problems before on this engine ?

Na Goth I have never had any probkem with it I jsut lean the bike over when I fill it and run her she works any air into thwe radiator and I top it off. I keep an eye on her though.
Next time I take the head off II will address it. I hope never
