water pump anyone??

Out for my morning mad dash to work and got an aweful whine from what appears to be the water pump. anyone else have this issue?? 20k on my ride, thought I had all the bugs worked out. Still luv the ride everything needs alittle tlc once in a while.

Just a thought..could it be something behind the timing cover and not the pump..timing chain guides running on the metal maybe ?

I mention this because there was a mod on the earlier models..

Water pump failure

Well Made the Trip down to the Dragon, that was fun! Got back home whined the whole way but it never had issues. Stopped this morning after short ride in 80 deg heat and she acted like it over heated. flashy light on gauge and no start. cooled off started right up so I'm changing the waterpump. Ordered today

Stupid question but .. is ya electric cooling fan cutting in and running

yes it is but shuts off when bike is turned off. Where you going? temp sensor will not allow the bike to start when hot.

OK this is one of the problems I have found with Triumpphs, They don't stock parts in US! UGH Can you say Back order with not date avalible Anyone got any Ideas where I might find one?? Help!!!!!!! it's ridin season and I'm down

Hell since you can no tride her now because of the heat issues maybe you can just replace the bearings and seal in the pump you have.

I was thinking maybe the fan elec motor had failed..just athought.
I guess you have to open up the pump .. you might think about replacing the Thermostat maybe while your at it.
If you cant get a pump, we can check parts in Oz if you want, but I think you will pay heaps more + freight than in the US.

What a brilliant business plan. Build a great product and never have parts for it forcing folks to buy another? WTF Tirumph ? Detent springs, radiator hoses, water pumps, ad infinitum. I wonder if an enterprising person might buy 6 of each of these parts and keep them in his garage and mark them up just a bit instead of the agonizing wait for Triumph to actually make the part.
