Hey Steve,
I have an 08 Standard R3. When I changed my oil each of the sump plugs had the crush washers. The manual said to "replace" them. Which means they should have been there to begin with. Don't know if it causes problems without though.

Just like everybody else says, look closely, they are there.

First time I changed the oil 2 of them were stuck on th eplugs and it looked as if they were part of the plugs and the third was stuck on the pan.

I change them every 2 oil changes, but that's me. Only costs $2 to save you a headache down the road.

I read somewhere where somebody matched the old washers with copper ones from a local autoparts store and used the copper ones. I believe the copper ones were a lot cheaper than the stock aluminum ones from triumph dollars vs. cents.

Not sure if copper and aluminum go along well. They will crush allright but honestly, for $2 for all 3 of them why take the risk?
