V-Max Let's get it on

It's not bike to bike, it the ability of the rider to get off the line with maximum traction and hold the bike in it's power range. I'm not a racer at all but I went against a 109 in Toldeo, light to light (maybe 1/2 mile between lights) and ate him a new A'hole 3 times and I Sunday shifted the bike to boot. I'm glad the R3 has good brakes, it's hard to get to warp speed and back to a stop in a half mile....

I never came out hard, spun the tire or any of that crap. Just eased the clutch out took it to ignition stutter in first, clutched second and cranked the throttle to the stop, stutter again, clutched 3rd and it was over. Time to heat the discs........

I'm sitting at the light and he pulled up in the other lane, looked over and smirked so I smoked his arse like a cheap cigar. He decided to turn right at the 4th light.

I usually don't even bother looking at other bikes, especially HD's. I always know it's a Harley next to me. I can't hear a frigg'in thing. Besides, they know the deal anyway.

Had a VMax for years...while its definitely faster, the torque of the Rock blows me away. The Max, you had to really roll the throttle to get it moving...the Rock, I barely twist and its screaming down the road. The Rocket is a much more fun ride for me. And I really think I could give a VMax a real run once I get comfortable with my new ride.

Ever tried something similar up against some uppity high schooler in daddy's Z06 'Vette, Flip?

Too funny, I can tell you!

No. One of the techs at school has a Saleen thats really built but he agrees, a bike will get out quicker than a car. It's all about weight and getting it moving and most street races are over with real quick anyway.

We have Sky Roadster at school that has a 504 crate motor in it with a Tremac 5 speed. It's absolutely insane and perfectly streetable.

Sky. As in, Saturn Sky, normally powered by a turbo'd Ecotec?

Good grief, how I'd like to see a 500+ci (not heard of a 504. Non-GMPP crater?) powered Sky Redline. Got pics?

Can't speak for a v-max old or new. Can say a busa ain't got what it takes though. From a dead start for 1/8 mile, its all us. (mines stock, so was the busa) After that his powerband kicks in and we're toast. Thought it may have been the difference in rider ability, so we swapped. My rock still ate me off the line with him on it, but I sure liked that powerband. Never did see it top out tho, had to shut er down because of traffic. for a fact, from a dead stop for the first 1/8 its all us boys..
