I hope it helps I will keep an eye out on it for him to reply and tell me if it works> I am in the miffle of trouble shooting a rocket engine in Aussie ( frocket3) on the chat line now.

Great stuff warp9.9! This is serious support.

I will go through this procedure this eve after work. I do have the key in the white box. One question though...., does Tunedit require the tune that is in the bike, loaded in tunedit upon startup? Or, can I have the tune I want to download in tunedit when I launch tunedit?

you can already have the tune you want to used loaded in. Sometimes when you first hook up it tells your to load a skin in . But that is the same as loading what tune/skin you want. I did not know if yours was going to ask it or not which is why I walked your thru loading a tune. just instead of opening a R3T tune like I walked you thru you load your R3T tune you want. I am assuming you have a tune sent to you by someone that has had his on the dyno verses the R3T tunes that come with the tune boy purchase or the ones you can down load from tune boy's site.
I would load what you want first when your checking the stuff in the proper ties box/ You don't have gigpro atre do you? If so it won't work you can only use the gear sensor side of gig pro or tune edit will be looking for gears that the atre is fooling the ecu into thinking it does not have it.

Are you in the USA?

I am indeed in the USA. I do not have the gigpro atre stuff installed. The bike is relatively stock with the exception of K&N underseat and TORS. I went through your screenshots and here is what I found....

I did have a tune loaded in tunedit. The software key is in the white box. I did not have "slow down mode" checked (what is slow down mode?).

Also, The K-Wait on my tunedit reads 24 versus your 5 (what is K-wait)?

Perhaps, these are my issues?

I sent the tunedit.trc file to Emma (at her request). She is forwarding to Wayne for interpretation. Unfortunately, I am flying out tommorrow and cannot play with the bike till I get back. I will not be back until early next week. Can we continue this when I get back? By then I should have some info from Emma/Wayne as well.

Thanks again (very much!) for the assistance.

sure I will be here when you get back But I bet if you make the changes in your properties screen it will work the slow down load mode allows for more time to feed to tune to the ecu. My guess it it depends on how drastically the changes are in the tune the more changes the longer the down load takes. these changes worked for Joker in about two minutes flat.

OK, I kind of figured that was what the slow down mode was for. Unfortunately, I have not gotten to the tune download stage yet. I cannot seem to get tunedit to connect to the ECU. Well, I am off to an airplane. Will continue when I get back!

Ok Bob we will take care of it when you get back!!! just pm me when your home and we will work on it over the phone I am pretty confident we can get her done. I am no expert but when T Evans and Joker had problems we were able to get it sorted out.

Here is the update..., and....., I am glad to say, the conclusion to this problem As it turned out, I had to make some changes to the "properties" in a couple of different area's. Changes made were as follows:

Wait time - from 24 to 30
K-Wait time - from 24 to 5

In addition, I had to click on "slow down" mode.

Even after that, it took 4 or more attempts to get the failed download to recover. Once I got it recovered, it again failed several times doing the tune download requiring a failed down load recover again. aaaarrrrggghhh. However, I was finally able to get the tune download successfully. BIke is running fine! Everybody is happy!

Thanks Warp 9.9 for "baby sitting" me through this grueling process. What a PITA. I do hope the next time I play with tunedit, things go smoother. Emma MacDonald was also very responsive and acted as a liason betwen myself and Wayne. Thank you very much Emma!

I will ride with the existing tune for a while then take it to the next step! Glad I was finally able to get Tunedit to connect!

Thanks again to all who helped or responded with comments.

Oh by the way...., After spending some time with Warp9.9 on the phone...., he is not half as bad as you guys say! :D

Great news Bob. Hope you get a commission Scott:D.

On the plus side Bob, anything you do in future with Tuneboy will be much easier now you have this experience. Heck, I'm even able to manage my own secondaries settings now.

Pete

Thanks Pete!

I do appreciate you responding as as well. I am thinking the next tune download will go better as well. THe funny thing is I am not new to tunedit. Problem is once I got my last R3 set up, I never touched it again. I forgot some of the tunedit "nuances". ;-)

Good news is, I started another log and this time I have logged all of the tunedit settings so I do not forget them again. The bike is quite happy with the new tune. I will run it for a while then ratchet it up a notch and try something else.

Thanks again Pete!
