TuneBoy Hazzard info needed !

Was talking with wife about tune boy and using
her brand new laptop to install it , if I get tuneboy .

Betty: Your not TRASHING my computer until
I know its safe and you can't FRY IT

Betty : I want to read the replies from the forum first ,

tuneboy for you

So just answer some of these questions
to make her feel @ ease

1. If I hook up tuneboy to a running motorcycle ( I think you can do that )
hooked up before starting .
Is there any chance of shorting out her computer :?:

2. If I was to forget about pulling head light fuse , and drained
the battery in my bike .... could it hurt her computer :?:

3. Is there anyway tuneboy could ruin her stored programs :?:

4. Is there any way tuneboy could cause a divorce :lol: :lol: :lol:

[1] Almost no chance the computer will get "fried." At most but very unlikely, you might fry a USB port or controller. USB ports are designed "hot swappable" meaning you can plug and unplug stuff whenever without killing your hardware, but it's still best to follow device instructions. The only Tuneboy link instructions you should follow is to plug the thing in with the bike ignition off first.

[2] That bike fuse won't affect Tuneboy interface with computer at all.

[3] Another unlikely thing. It's just another application that can be uninstalled like others. Wayne didn't program malware. At worst, Windows might lock up and you have to reboot.

[4] Sure can! If you aren't straight about how much the thing cost you (and her), plus all the extra "love" time the Tuneboy will give to you and your bike, well... The Mrs. might well not put up with it. She may be looking for a divorce attorney within a week. That's why I keep all my gifts to the Mistress hush and I only sneak out for a rendevous late at night when me wife is sound asleep. :lol:

30 foot usb extention cable, over the exercise machine, out through the window across the porch, over the railing onto the front lawn and hook to the bike. Who needs a laptop

I heard you can't go over 16 ft extension
or you run possiblity of losing some data signals

I'm not a geek so don't know if it true or
not ..... plus if I did some real time data logging
on dyno rental time..... it might be harder to carry
the home desktop PC on my bike Hmmm

Yeah I ran the cable out the window, Now I got a laptop for work and put tune boy on it. No problems with the software. I have it on my office computer so if I'm in with a patient and the subject comes up, :lol: :lol: I can open the spread sheets and show them how easy it is to fool with. I can't imagine a way that the laptop could be harmed. (Perhaps second only to 'Here, hold my beer', as my most famous last words) :lol:
