Triumph Parking Only

We're starting a trend at work, talk about polar opposites, but it's fun doging a 675 STr, they're quicker than you'd think and dead silent from my vantage on the R3, so he always gets the jump when taking off. Makes for a fun game of " how fast can I reel in the little Triumph"

You need to make a sign - When I grow up I want to be a Rocket 3, put it on the little bike..

You need to help him out on getting that tag relocated.

We went out for a ride today, STr owner got his first wheelie in @ 320 miles on the odo

Good fun riding with another triple, despite the massive displacement difference the sounds still harmonize occasionally creating that crazy resonance that two bikes sometimes make.

What we found out, as to be expected, if we both open the throttle at the same time, R3 walks away. Anything having to do with cornering doesn't really count as he's still learning his bike, so still gaining confidence in full power on corner exits and entry speeds, but a good rider, he didn't make the mistake so many do. He rode his ride, I rode mine, and he didn't try to keep up as I was trying to drag all the things (and failing) on a 270degree freeway on/off-ramps.

I was impressed by the big R3 though, in that I was able to corner hard enough on it to get him to have to actually try I just recall riding my Daytona 955i with a dude on a 883 Sportster and thinking "Is that really all the cornering they've got" the whole time.

I can't find the lean required to drag stuff anymore after all the suspension improvements and the 1.5" ride height increase, it's just SO FAR over to touch anything down I'm really not comfortable leaning such a big bike that far.

About 35° is all you can get before you roll off the rear tyre...For me that was the same point that the exhaust heat shield scraped on the rhs and the peg rail touches down on the lhs. Like you I'm not sure I'd be too confident pushing any harder...I kinda like the scrape 'alarm' letting me know I'm at the limit of rubber

A Street Triple with sorted suspension is VERY VERY fast in bends. You can pretty much do what you like - it has no torque so losing traction is hard. But revs so has some power.
I have to be honest - I am starting to miss this aspect of biking - I always had one 500cc bike in the stable when I was younger. Esp Laverda Montjuics. They were just "fun".



If I could get it legalised for use in Spain - I'd buy one tomorrow.

This category of bike is pretty much what feeds dealers here. Sub 1000cc are cheaper to tax by half - literally. And insurance MUCH lower.

Most road tyres are not really that safe past 38º (according to the tyre reps I've talked to) and most "cruiser" tyres about 33-34º. If you go to Super-sport then OK and race tyres are obviously different.

That looks like a fun bike!!

Someone here on island found one like that, doesn't run perfect but it does run. All original except the wear items of course.

I agree, about the Triumph 1050 bikes being monsters in the corners, I'v never had an issue running away from anyone on my Daytona 955, which is basically an S3 + clip ons, shorter wheelbase, and better suspenders. I'm sure once he gets comfortable on his street I'll be working my ass off to keep him in sight lol.
