Triumph Monoblock carb?

For you vintage Triumph guys. Does anyone know where to obtain a new monoblock carb. I've been trying to locate a source to buy one for my 67 TR6C for quite some time with no luck. I put a concentric on it about 10 years ago but it is not "correct". Concentrics can be had new but I have been unable to find a monoblock.

Recommendations most appreciated.
 
You may be in luck. I say may be in luck because some would dispute the luck of running a monobloc. :lol: :lol: :lol: But it does need to be correct and the more arcane the better. I have an Amal GP with remote float on my Rickman, it's not correct, (and it doesn't run with it, I run a concentric) but it looks great and I keep putting it back on to think about it.

Anyway, Moore has them in stock I believe and this guy is THE BEST, MOST HONEST AND HELPFUL GUY ON THE PLANET. Period!

Martin, that is why I put a concentric on mine. The monos are just a funky carb, with surging a common problem at low speed, as you well now. The old 6C was my primary ride since about 1983 and now is a garage queen. I am going to put it back to right, to include the side exhaust system. Thanks a bunch and I'll tell him you said hello.
 
Eagle, Paul and Dave, somehow I missed your posts. In fact, I just called this thread up to get the info for Moore's to call them. I haven't checked my parts book but I believe I need the 375. It has been a long time but that rings a bell.

There are quite a few places that carry parts for Amals, such as Domi-Racer but getting a new carb is a challenge. With all of these sources though, I am sure I'll turn one up. Thanks much.
 
The link in Dave's post (the one before your last) takes you to Amal direct (just been bought out by Suurry Cycles) and they are now making the monoblocks again inc the 375 - so you should have no problem. I sopke to them at a Classic show I went to at Bristol a couple of weeks ago.

As it turns out, mine takes the 389. I don't know how I could have forgotten that. Moores also has them in stock. I also learned that 1967 was a transition year for the TR6C with the later models having the concentric. The monoblocks used an offset air filter while with the concentrics the mounting hole was centered, which I now have on mine. It fits a bit tight though, that is, the back of the air filter contacts the side panels. I'll have to fool with this a bit but it is good to know I can now obtain a monoblock should I decide to do so. They are very expensive though, about $100 more then the concentric.
