Travel Plans for RDU

Just finished the same, the Rocket loaded and facing the rolla door ready for launching first thing in the morning, coffee at the BP the off th Hervey Bay.

Dropped the Roadster today
We all stopped at roadworks, sat idling in neutral for a minute and realized we were going to be stuck longer, so I switched her off put the stand down and got off to stretch the legs, the road had a slight down hill gradient and having 1" shorter shocks the bike sits almost upright, well the bike rolled forward just enough for the side stand to fold away, over she went.
Damage was broken clutch lever and scratched left mirror and radiator surround - pretty lucky I think, so now I am looking for a clutch lever ( Roadster - wider than standard)

So I got it started and rolled her into first gear and off we go, about a 100klms later we found an engineering shop that let us use his tig welder, Donny (tomcats) old mate welded the leverback together, what a legend, it works but I will need to replace it.
So there you have it, we won't let this spoil a great weekend:D

Must say once we go you going initially it was funny watching you reach for the clutch lever that wasn't there. I hope you realise that we were all so traumatised by the whole thing that we had to sit in the pub and knock back a few drinks while you and Donny were off having fun with the welder.

You forgot to mention the high repair bill. I mean Donny had to do all the work. All they had to do was let a couple of complete strangers (one with a bloody penguin on his shirt) use their space, equipment and consumables and what did they charge you?? Nothing! Bloody best place in the world this.

And today on the final leg to Hervey Bay with 15 or so Rockets thundering through the last 400km was about the best fun I've ever had sitting down.

Was great meeting the rest of the guys already here and looking forward to the arrivals tomorrow. Yipeeeeeee.

All I can say Mittzy is u know how good the blokes are around u when u see the stuff like today . Donny and Tomcat absolute champions mate and also Aussie Bruce who wasn't even on the ride. First of all Tomcat and Donny both went above and beyond to try to get Mittzy mobile again Donny for tig welding the lever back together and Bruce who was willing to drive well out of his way after a hard days work to pick up a part for a fellow captain without hesitation . All three of these blokes have my respect that's for sure absolute legends all three of them .

That's what riding with your mates is all about, especially with mates that share a common interest for such a unique ride. Great Mates, 140HP, 140CUBE, & 140MPH, what more can you need, except a cold beer after a good ride.
