Transmission Update Needed?

My 05 has about 38,000 & never had an update kit. And like others said, what used to be a $250 kit is now $2000 - Ride it......

Turns out I have plenty of buggered ones that I can use for testing...

THATS why you want to stop the sloppy shifting that rounds off the dogs and you wont have any problems and always use the clutch to shift gears

what gear dogs etc would need to be undercut etc

If you have yours apart Mitzy on a street bike. I would do just the drive side of all the gear dogs, unless you have a real high power engine and flog it. Shimming the gearbox correctly is the big one for me, not that I have done hundreds of R3's , but every box I have looked at has been pretty loose. This is not a rocket specific problem, there are plenty of bikes with fairly ordinary assembly. I have had two brand new 2016 R1 Yams with gearbox failure so far. Just with a pipe and a tune, not hotrods.
