Driving into work one day my R3 stopped shifting gears. Turns out the retaining bolt circled in the attachment came loose and fell into the pan of the trans, luckily not damaging anything on its way through. My 2009 R3 had about 13,000 kms on it at the time.
My shop is quoting 17 hours to repair the issue? Can anyone tell me if this is reasonable? I grew up in a shop, my father is a mechanic and we could replace an entire truck engine and have it running and out the door in that time.
The reason given is that they need to remove the engine to split the transmission and then reassemble, that seems like a lot of work but is 17 hours reasonable for what I expect should be a competent mechanic or am I getting bent over?
Does Triumph have manuals like auto manufacturers that show what different repairs should take for labor time?
Any help here would be appreciated. I'm new to forums in general so hopefully I've posted this correctly, please let me know if I'm doing something wrong. Thanks.
