tour at carptener racing

Mutt, you don't a clue what you are talking about and I say this with all respect as well as coming from a very informed basis regarding exactly what went down during this grabits escapade. For now, just trust me when I say that you have only heard one extraordinarily biased side of the story and very little in the way of facts. Carpenter Racing was entirely blameless for any and all allegations that grabits has made or implied here.

just curious.. you ever had any work done by them or were you hanging around the shop when this was going on ?

I have had work done, and am quite happy with the service even after. Whenever I have a question Bob takes the time to explain his opinions on the subject. I am not saying the scratch could not have happened I am saying if it did Bob is the type of man that would have had the fender changed before the owner of the bike showed up or even new it was scratched. As for the washers I suppose if Triumph can install TDU bearings backwards there is no way they could have left a few washers out. The fuel gauge man I hope no one who owns a touring bike takes the tank off and sets it aside. Because unpluging the harness and taking the 4 bolts out (the bear claw bolts the one in the front and the one that acts linke a hinge bolt) will screw theirs up also.

For those who believe this hog wash and decide not to buy their kits from them on the basis that this bull**** happend are only shorting themselves. But its ok stay in the slow lane with your 150 horses or less. Some people like riding donkey's me I like the fast ones.

These are the facts not allegations i told bob 2 weeks ago that i would be there wed the11 he said the bike was done and gave me a price. I went 1 day sooner and forgot to call bob so i contacted art. Oh the bike needed (buttoned up) i was under the impression it was finished. If the bike takes a **** it will be a lesson that i will learn from i will find a professional to fix it

Warp9.9 as for finding the part thanks i was not notified of this i do have a phone a computer and a answering machine a call would have been nice and again he knew as you stated that i was coming after my bike other than art keeping me updated (thank you art) i only received 1 phone call from bob i made the 20 + calls to him

Warp9.9 he does not take bank checks. As i look at my written estimate he should put on it final payment cash or wire. I wouldn`t have had such a bad attitude towards this, but when u tell someone who is a couple hundred miles from home this is what i accept and after you had already accepted a check from me

I found the problem with the OEM part at 10:00 PM your time and notified Bob the first thing he did the next morning was check two othe rbike one being yours. You were already on the road by then. He opened up the motor fixed the problem and retuned the bike on the dyno before you arrived as he new you were on the road by then. Thats service fixed the stuff before you knew or your would have been dead in the water after 100 miles. try getting a Triumph technitian to tear the front of the motor off and open it up fix the problem and get her ready in that short of notice.

Did you see the other Rockets there. Two of them were given to him to play with free of charge. Triumph likes what he is doing with their bikes your jumping off the boat before it springs a leak. Your choice your ride enjoy it. Oh and after your on this forum a while and figure out the 2008 models have also been known to need the update kit in the tranny, It won't be because you added horse power they fail on stockers also. What about the e-mail between you and Art where you stated you don't remember whether hte bike was scrathed or not!!!! why don't you be honest and mention that on this public forum. what about the hours Art and I spent chasing wiring schematics dow to make sure we could put a standar ECU in you bike incase Tune Boy did not come thru. Man this proves that one can go the extra mile to help a customer/fellow captain and yet still get his *****stomped on.

I see why Art says it aint worth it helping others you made him spot on in that assumption!!!!

Probably shouldn't post on here, but, every company, service center, dealership or whatever, has probably had one bad experience nomatter whos fault. Everything I've read, heard or seen about Carpenter Racing tells me they know there ****. As soon as my Roadster needs engine work, or I get ready to fly, they'll get my bike. Again, heard nothing but good stuff about their Quality of work.
I, myself, bnged a dealership here on account of hear say and such and then felt bad when they heard of it. The only problem was my impatience to have my bike back.
There is always two sides to every story.

Warp; on page 3 read what i wrote about the scratch to the public, when i arrived to get the bike it was never on the dyno that morning there was another bike on it, the garage door was not opened at the dyno. The only door that was opened is where my bike was washed,(ground was still wet) and again i was not informed of this problem. Maybe if i was i would be a little more understanding. After seeing all the triumph engines and parts i figured bob knew all the weak spots. How do i know your not blowing smoke. He fixed 2 bikes as you say dynoed mine all this by 12:00 noon change bikes on the dyno wash mine and park it in the only open spot and the bike to be completly cooled down.
