**** eatin grin and a not so mad wife

you can`t imagine right now. I want Art to try it out and run it around town. It should be broke in by now. Got to wait a week and a half till I get a day off to go and get it. I live about a minute and half form work wonder how long it will take me now????? As for the adopition for the 35 year old son, just can`t got to save up for tires....:D:cool::):p:rolleyes:

Ya Rich wait till you get her :D I just got back from a spin on mine and man when you shift at 7000 she is a brute!!! Not even full throttle and she just pulls like a freight train. Then there is this whistle coming from the intake

Your in for a ride for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got my rocket back from carptener racing. Other than 1" long chip out of the paint(i was told it was there when i droped the bike off in oct.) and fuel gauge showing empty(was told better put fuel in it(fuel gauge now doesn`t work) half way across the state of pa. He tells me cash only to pick up bike. ( already gave him 6,000.oo dollars 5 months ago on a job that was suppose to take 1 month, and never *****ed a word about it.... Warning take pictures and document everything trust no one i thanked him and walked away. First and last experience with carptener racing. Ps has anyone had trouble with fuel gauge. Checked wiring it is hooked up (which i was surprised) plastic washers under bolts holding dash on 2 out of three missing. Only 2300 miles on bike. I don`t like to bad mouth mechanics (23 years of working at a dealership) i know what its like to deal with customers . Just wanted to let people know what to expect from carptener racing

That blows. It is shame that no one seems to take pride in their work anymore. Missing bolts, scratched paint. If it were mine I would be ready to lay down an ass whoopin. I have a good bike mechanic here in Ga that works on my bike like it is his own.

I can not believe they told you the scratch in the paint was already there, like you would have not noticed it. Why not just man up and say sorry and we will take care of it. And if it was there, they should have noted it when it came in the door and had you sign off on it.

Sorry to hear about all this, as I have been saving up to get mine sent to them as well.

I think I will take the 4 grand I have put away and start looking for a used busa to cure my need for speed. Should make for a pretty good down payment anyways.

Sorry to hear your experience. I remember last year Bob Carpenter told me he didn't give a **** about the Rocket 3. He would not tell me the size of the larger tappets he wanted to install in my head. He said "Send me your money & head, or don't! I don't care"! Needless to say, I don't do business with people that have such rude attitudes. Now warp9.9 will try to tell you that the larger tappet size is a "racer's secret". What a joke! Any cam grinder will tell you the size tappet needed for a certain cam lift rate. No secrets involved.

Wasn't Carpenter Racing (Imfasttoo) banned from this forum for making threats? Truly, pride goeth before a fall.

Yeah I honestly doubt if Carpenter were to read my reply to the thread that they would give a ****. I know they work on a lot of other bikes beside the Rocket. That said, I was all ready to give them my money till I heard how they treated a fellow Rocket Rider.

I know it is a one sided story at this point, I just don't like how they handled his paint issue. If a bike sits at your shop for 7 to 8 months because you can not figure out how to make it run, then is picked back up by the customer and the customer complains that it now has new scratches, I would think that would be common sense to a shop owner to realize it probably happened at the shop and to take care of it.

Instead they took the low road, even after keeping his bike for a REALLY long time, and said basically funk off, it was like that when we got it.

Unreal!!

Had the bike out for my first voyage. Pulled out of the driveway hit the gas about quarter throttle had around 8" of air under the front tire. Beyond a beast in first and second. without the cat and o2 sensor(i haven`t found it on this new exhaust) the fuel is really turned up. When u crack the throttle quite a bit black exhaust comes out. I know this thing really needs fuel, just wondering if it will give me any ring wash down in time. wasn`t a single head that didn`t turn when I had it out. One fellow rider heard me go past turn around and come back. I turned around about 3 miles away. As for the performance I have to give credit to carptener racing. I wish the whole transaction would have went as smooth as the bike runs.

I hope it continues to run smooth as there will not be a lot of people in your area that understand the rocket as well as the modifications. And the way you publucly kicke Bob in the nuts I would imagine getting his help will not be as easy now. Hell I found a problem with a particular Triumph OEM part notified Bob the night before you left and he tore the bike down the morning you arrived and had it fixed/modified so it would not fail on you after 100 miles. I just wonder how it would have gone if you notified him two days in advance of your arrival like he had discussed with you insteed of you dropping a e-mail to Art at 9:00 pm the night before you left. He would have even discussed final payment with you and it would not have been a shock. You could have found out he excepts not personal checks from anyone from being burned to many times. He only excepts bank checks , money orders, cash, or bank wire transfers.

As for the scratch I was not there but I know Bob to be a very honest man and would side with him anyway so I will not argue that problem at all.

As for the time you knew the problem was with soft ware as even I discussed on the phone with you other possibilities until Tune Boy and him go it sorted out. You have even been in on the tune boy emails as I have but yet know mention in your first rant so people who know how hard it is to get tuneboy to respond with customer service could better judge the situation.
It seems to me you might have stomped on your *****in your firsat post as the guys who work with Bob and his kits on this site take it bad when you Kick what they no to be a upstanding company as Carpenter Racing and Bob personally.

Oh and **** your ole lady does write some nasty e-mails. You should let her know you catch more flies with sugar then ****!!!!!!!!!

Good luck enjoy your powerfull beast!!!!

Oh and your fuel guage problem. I have heard of this problem on Touring bikes and if I remember right it took a couple tanks and the guage reset its self. Maybe some other touring guys can elaborate.

Now the washers that were missing many times I have heard of dealers pulling parts of other bikes to get a customer up and running to include internal clutch parts. With you buying a left over 08 at the end of 2010 this very well could have happened to your bike also. Even if it is a used bike and the dealer had it they still could have happened.

Funny....I dont have stock in any of this and see the crap spewing..............The scratch was done at carpenter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????? Not hard to figure that and nothing was done on they're end...NOTHING!......you cant defend that! Parts missing cause they had the **** thing apart!!!!!!!!!!!! was not a dealer not replacing missing parts and they missed this one! Jeez....how difficult is it to see they didnt give a flying **** about it and just wanted it done............thats piss poor business.........and what about other "customers"? guess they're stupid too and "BoB" had a reasonable "excuse for them too?!
It just goes to show ya what your dealing with........Ive been reading about this company for a long time here and have not heard good things from them except from 2 members and apparently they have stock in the company cause they can do no wrong........Ill be clear..it wouldnt matter what company it was...I would still comment the same way because that whole situation was wrong.....I dont give a **** about what they did or didnt do....they accepted the job and should of handled it better.......end of story! :soapbox:
