Do you still have your cat? I'm curious. My next obsession (now that the tires are purchased) will likely be the exhaust choice as you have outlined here.

I have had tors/delete & Jars, I prefered the look & sound of the jars. Didn't dyno the tors but jars showed 151hp with PC3, sh*t that seems a lifetime ago now.
I found the Tors better in a roll on from 2K, but above 3.5K the bigger headers & big bore cans of Jars were stronger, check out Waynes charts it shows exactly that too.

I've never ridden a bike with Jars but my experience with TORS/no cat bears out what you're saying. I hardly ever go over 4,000rpm because it seems to pull better at lower revs. Wouldn't say it runs out of puff but if I hit each gear at around 3k it definitly pulls harder than reving it out. Horses for courses!

i've seen a few 3 into 1 setups using the jardine header, as well as the predator with one muffler. i really like the three into 1 sound, look, and also the weight savings. wish i could find a good header rather than an entire exhaust system. the header with a good flowing apkrovic or however it's spelled, or another quality muffler would really work great i'm thinking. our bikes seem to evolve as time goes by. i've currently got the stock header with the tors and cat delete, and it works great. but the only issue i have is that there's a lot of room and weight with the three mufflers. the 3 into 1 system would sure look sharp in my opinion though. if anyone has an idea, please p.m. me, i'm open to suggestions.

I went with the TORS with staintune crossover on my 2010 Roadster. I was wanting more bite in the exhaust note but not to loud. I have KN filters, a better tune using TuneEcu, with O2 sensor disabled. While getting on it going through the gears I have lifted the front off the ground going into second. So all of the above definitely was a improvement.

A little more detail.

Based on what I have seen on the dyno:

Removing the bearclaw tends to show 3-3.5% gains just from reduced intake air temps - increased air density.

A single silencer (good flowing), allows for better collector length, and will produce a solid 1.5% gain throughout the power band.

The best bang for the buck as far as performance is concerned:
Single high flowing silencer exiting out the right side.
K&N RU-2780 air filters, no bearclaw.
Good mapping.

The issue is then the header becoming the restriction for higher rpm output.

The Preds flow a good bit better than the Jardines, and tend to make roughly 3.5% more output, and broader torque curves. You can cut the difference in half by modifying the Jardines to a single output.

With either the Preds or the Jardines, the K&N RX-4040-1 filters show a nice improvement over the RU-2780 (without bearclaw). And they stay clean MUCH longer due to the improved surface area and flow.

So things to think about.

UPdate on Carpenters

Dynoed the new Carpenters. Actually LOST some hp vis a vis the TORs they replaced in the midrange. About 6 hp gain in upper rev range. Baffel may even things out and quiet these thunderous pipes. Not really all that impressed. Certainly not equal to the hype. Probably no better than Jars and only slightly better than TORs.

Yep big bore pipes like that are all about power at high rpm, on a motor with stock cams I don't think they would be any advantage at all, except looks.

Actually my TORS are well modified beyond Triumph specs. The Carps exceed even these. Too **** loud, but top end is significantly beyond stock. I'm sure the anticipated 210 kit will be augmented by these babies...baffled or not. I'll stay the course I suppose. They also are much lighter than the TORs and even the Jardines. A good set up all told. The baffle will civilize them enough to keep me out of jail:D
