I just put a new set of Tor's on my bike. Will they quiet down some after being run awhile? I don't like how loud they are compared to stock without cat. I know my Harley pipes quieted down once they got some miles on them and built up some carbon.
I am not a fan of loud pipes; I was just looking to get more horsepower out of bike. 8)
They might quiet a little but that's probably because the noise killed off some ear receptors. When I first got the TORs they hurt my ears but after a month or so it didn't bother me. Doubt it was because they got quietier by themselves.
Give yourself a chance to acustom to them they are throatier than stock witout the cat. If you got acustom to the harley pipes you will love these.
You can always go back but I think you won't as I grew to like mine.
You can put the ends off your stock ones on and it will probably direct the noise to the rear and sound different while your riding. Remember if you want more power you have to breath in and out you can't take in more than you put out unless you force feed her with a turbo or a supercharger.
I put the tors on my bike the day after I got it home did not notice abig dif in the sound until I put the cat bypass on . I dont care for the decelerateing poping but the rest is good
I have no popping and it runs great.....just afraid wife is going to revolt  Oh well not like it will be the first time.....
Like I said the Harley quieted down with the Screamin Eagle factory pipes after they got some carbon buildup in them.... 8)
These sound so raspy now, the price I pay for more power.
Like I said jeepster put the stock tips on it will redirect the noise behind your wife. The slash cut tips will be louder to the passenger especially if you don't have saddle bags.
Axle if you have a tune boy PM me your e-mail address I will send you a tune with the lower fuel tables fatten up to decrease the decel popping.
Speedo corrected and secondarys open. and you won't reach the speed limiter shut off.
It worked like a charm for me before I changed to a different air intake system.
I had the dealer install TOR's on my replacement Rocket. I, too, was concerned about my wife's reaction. I tried to convince her it only sounded louder than my previous Rocket because we were in the driveway between the two houses. She didn't buy it, but nor did she object. I ride with earplugs and she doesn't.
They don't quiet down, unless your hearing starts to go.
Hi, New member and just bought an 08 Rocket Classic after 2 decades of harley ownership. Love the looks, ride and performance bur it sounds a bit meek for a 2.3l lump!!!!
I like the noise, welcome ideas guys.
Thanks,
