my Metz's were horrible, the only good thing about them was the ability to do burn outs in 1rst 2nd and 3rd gears, didn't try it 4th as i was over 100MPH at that point, used to freak the squid kiddies out, I LOVE MY AVONS, they grip awesome and corner great, i can drag the floor boards with no worries about sliding out

I am sure there will be a difference between you and me considering I can not ride as spirited as you do. Part of it also is because I have a 18 inch rim for the rear I can run both Commander II's together for to see what they feel like. I do like the 140 Avon on the front but prefer the Max and the back. Again its just a matter of how long the rubber chew toy last when increase the warp drive capacity of the OEM engine :D

I bet that 18 inch on the rear is sweet!

not really, the Metz's just sucked that bad that if i shifted to 3rd and punched it the back tire would break free, and if i applied a little to much pressure on the back brakes it would lock up, Avons don't do that, I tried to get the Michelin Commander II's for the bike but couldn't get the rear tire, i use those on one of my other bikes and they are great, i can ride through torrential downpours with total confidence, i can ride up to to the edge of tread and not be concerned about sliding out, another really great tire

tails, dollar for dollar and pound for pound, I believe that the best front and rear combo on stock wheels is the Bridgestone Exedra Max 240/55 16 on the rear and Michelin's Commander II 140/75 17 up front - both are higher speed-rated radials. At the prodding and recommendation of a truly informed expert, I was the first to try out those tires on the R3, as well as running an Exedra Max 130 up front ( a great tire, but too skittish for most Captains running more powerful, modded motors))

If they are not available to you, then I would recommend what others here already have - even though I have had no reason to try them out for myself - Avon Cobras front and rear.
