Turning bars to left full stop does not effect throttle, turning bars to right about half way from center to full stop freezes the throttle no matter where I have the throttle grip position. Meaning if throttle is closed for idle, then fine but if throttled up to say 2 or 3 or whatever K rpm’s then it stays there without my hand on the throttle. Before I make matters worse where do I start? Can I adjust cables at intakes? Will that result in tpms adjustments needed or other things?

on my 07 it is free like you can wiggle it with no drag.
it has about 2mm b4 it starts to move the throttle bodys
if it is dragging then you probably need to back it off till you have slack the tighten it back up
my 07 has about 1/4 inch of threads above the nuts on the throttle bodies u have to back the nut on top before you can move the bottom nuts to change the settings.
i have an 15 and both of them are about 1/2 inch but the throttle is stiff like they are set to tight.

at the throttle bodies the one on the inside is the throttle close
the outside is the throttle open.

i do not think that it will affect any other settings unless some one has set it way off.
should be ok

Fine adjustment up top the rest below down by the throttle body mounting bracket where you check the cable freeplay.
This is a push pull system messing with what people mistake as a idle stop screw and incorrect cable freeplay binds the stepper motor controls leading to people thinking they are having a Idle Stepper Control Motor problem.
The adjustment procedures are in the manual. !!!!
If you haven't messed with checking up top I'd take a peek for frade cables making it stick .

The easiest thing to do is spray some cable lube down the cables first. Corrosion buildup can bind the cables. The procedure for removing throttle cables starts on page 11.120 of the service manual. If you don't have a manual (available on IDK's posts) we can step you thru it.

In the manual regarding throttle adjustment there are 2 or 3 places that refer to, 'inner" and "outer" cables and "opening" and "closing" cables. The diagrams identify the opening and closing cables but not the inner and outer cables. Well, duh, it finally occurs to me that "inner" must refer to the wire inside the "outer" sheath of the cables. Have I got that right?

Another question: a few inches from where the 2 throttle cables go into the throttle grip/switch housing there is a threaded ferrule-like cylinder around each cable. I can't find any description of these in the manual. I thought they might have something to do with cable adjustment but your suggestion about cable lube makes me wonder if that is where I could apply the lube after opening them.....??? Attaching a couple photos.

i know that there is an inner cable and there is an outer cable that supports the inner cable.
maybe they are talking about the inside cable (closest to the motor) which is the closing cable and the outer cable (is the cable farther away from the motor) opening throttles at the engine

at the top on the handle bar you have the top cable that is open throttle bodies
and the bottom cable that is the close throttle bodies.
the parts that is circled are the adjusting components i have mine set with about .100 threads showing. what i did with my bike was to set the bottom adjustors so that you have room on the handle bar so that you can make a quick adjustment the adjustments on the bottom takes much more time
in the picture that is circled shows no threads .

Well, that is what I was wondering too but the only sense I can make of it is if they are talking about the outer sheath of the cable versus the inner wire cable where these attach to the push/pull spring gizmo at the throttle bodies.

I will attach photos of the ferrules on the cables at the upper end of the cables where they go to the throttle grip. I see threads on the top cable and none showing on the bottom cable. How do these compare to your settings? So, these do have something to do with cable adjustment as to tension or slack in the throttle cables? If so, where then would I apply cable lube to these cables? Thanks Herm!!!
****, that was interesting, but hope I don't need to mess with that. But I will if nothing else helps. Thanks. :)
