This Sucks

Well there you go again! About every other post you just have to put The United States down you yellow bellied f@g.

What part of the "It's not limited to the United States" did you miss? But I understand, reading comprehension is hard.

I was directly quoting a brilliant man - an American brilliant man, at that.

The phone is not the distraction during a conversation. The act of conversing causes distraction. By this logic shouldn't all talking be disallowed.

Yes. All talking should be disallowed, if people are too stupid and selfish to STFU and focus voluntarily.

A passenger in the seat next to you is just as big a distraction as talking on the phone. Extending the driver's reaction speed by several seconds is absolutely killing people every year.

But of course, the good solution is to disallow cars, not talking. But we can start with talking.

So many people seem to think their freedom to be antisocial and dangerous supersedes other people's freedom from being mowed down by a multi-ton death tank of an SUV. How the hell do you figure? There's no such thing as absolute freedom, because absolute freedom means that killing someone's baby and eating it is legal. We limit people's freedom to be massive douches every single day, for the good of society and for all our sakes.

Or are you really happy to be sharing a road with these kids doing what they're doing?

To late everyone already gave up all their freedoms after 9/11 so they can feel safe! Their is a risk to living in a open and free society, like we use to have.

We now have a false sense of security at our airports, getting frisked, bomb sniffers, and scanning equipment. Every major event we have police with automatic weapons patrolling our streets. We look like a 3rd world nation.

Motor vehicle laws are a joke that nobody follows, maybe that's our great last freedom.

This is not the country our parents grew up in, and their all rolling in there graves.

You can't protect everyone from themselves or each other, I don't have the answer but I do know we are not heading in the best direction!

Of course I'm not happy about sharing the roads with distracted drivers. I am a professional driver and also move oversize loads very frequently, so this impacts me greatly. I just don't feel more ineffective laws are the answer.
BTW. I had a near head on collision with a texting 36 yo. a year ago. I lost 2 months work and repair costs to my truck were $28,000. Due to Michigan laws I received zero compensation for lost revenue. Maybe there should be real consequences for misbehaving.

I agree whole heartedly with sonny. You should ALWAYS wear at least a helmet. Just try to ask Gary Busey (mediocre actor). He went down on his motorcycle when he hit a patch of sand and slid head first into a curb while traveling only 40 mph! The poor fellow can't look you straight in the face and can't put enough words together to make a intelligent sentence. I think we have more motorcycle riders crash due to their own fault then someone else taking them out. Broken bones and severe scrapes usually heal on their own (although painfully); but your brain, not so much! It is always your choice whether or not you wear a helmet, gloves, leathers. or any SAFETY gear when riding. I love riding my beast and want to ride my beast (not my wife) as long as possible. I always wear protective gear, just as I always drive extremely defensively. OH, and I don't need the stinking government to dictate common sense to me!

So you are saying I can still text on my bike since it will only kill me? You are splitting hairs, and since I don't have any I'll have to disagree.

I have just enough comprehensive ability to understand that you "threw in" the part about not limited to the US to cover up the fact you just realized that you went and did it again. but your so pseudo intellectual that you just couldn't help but, yet again, for the umpteenth time, put down this country. excuse me for not being one of the herd of PC Pu$$y's that now will just sit idely by & do and say nothing..... nah, that ain't me. stop putting down the US & I'll stop calling you out. keep it up, & I'll keeping calling you the douchebag slug that you are.

Ok, sorry. I need to realize that no matter what you say to some people it's not going to change who they are at the core.
point made. using the ignore option.
Done - fork in it

Dont worry...pretty soon there will be driver-less cars and tractor trailers to contend with. I wonder if we will ever see a riderless motorcycle. Which begs the question: if a driverless car gets pulled over and the cop smells antifreeze, is it considered a DUI offense???
