I managed to talk my lady into finally getting her license a few weeks ago. So now she's commuting in the Rouge, and I'm rolling to work on the Rocket on a daily basis and I've learned a few things on the way.

1) I need a Stebel or similiar...I've always made a joke that I don't have to worry about other drivers not seeing me as much as other bikes do, because the Rocket has "presence". It may actually be true but after three people, over the course of a single 45 minute commute, decided to merge into the space I was occupying I feel there's value in giving the Rocket the means to make it's "presence" better known.

2) I've always hated too much humidity, but the Rocket seem to hate it more. I'd take 100F over 90F and 25% Humidity. The heat this engine puts out is massive and moisture in the air makes more of that heat reach me. I find myself taking a longer route just to keep rolling and keep the air moving.

3) I really need to figure out how to remove this box of rocks that someone decided to install on my bike around 3k. The engine vibrations aren't a new topic on this forum (all gears, slight pressure on the clutch makes it go away), but I was able to live with it while I was light traffic. Now I prefer to keep my RPMs up in heavier traffic and the vibrations are very distracting. I'm one of those guys who always throws a 6th gear on the Rocket wish lists, now I'm starting to think if I could just get the vibrations under control I would be fine as is.

4) Bike keeps getting lighter and more sure footed. It follows, naturally, that the more practice I get the more comfortable I feel on the bike. I was at best the odd weekend warrior in terms of riding. I bought the bike in 2014 with about 6k miles on her. I just got to 10k. I'm still amazed at how capable the bike is. As my own skill increases the bike's capabilities are more than a match for me.

1) Yes, they are cheap and make sure to buy with the wiring harness to make it absolutely dead simple to install. I personally split the horn and installed the compresser under the left side cover and ran a clear tube to the front where the stock horn is and replaced it with the stebel horn. Worked awesome.

2) Here in Toronto we get terrible humidity so I know what you mean, but I will tell you this.. in the winter months while you can still ride, that engine heat is AWESOME at keeping you warm!!

3) Doesn't really sound normal to me, my bike never vibrated or shook that hard at any RPM... is there something loose on your bike?

4) Keep riding and enjoying!!

I commute 117 miles a day on the Rocket. Heat is not a issue, all open highway. I do not have any vibration either. I would get that checked out. A little over 2500 RPM's sets me at doing around 70 MPH. Rather smooth at that speed. Rocket X bought new in Oct 2015 (30,000 miles and still running REAL GOOD):D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Adding more details about the vibrations as I suspect there will be a few more comments on it.

Symptoms
* Significant at about 2.8k rpm sticks around until 3.2ish (?).
* Don't notice it under heavy accel
* It's present in all gears, but really stands out in 4th.
* Not as noticible with a cool engine.
* Slight depression of the clutch and it's gone.

From what I've seen on the forum, I'm not the only one that has this issue. I've seen a couple threads pop up here and there with more or less the same problem. I haven't seen a resolution though (granted I haven't paid too terribly close attention as the others with the same symptoms haven't identified any associated escalating problems). Now it's become a PITA so I'm going to go back a deep dive the forum and see if I missed something.

Hello Chris, Yes to the added decibels! That is needed in every traffic pattern around the globe! Triumph (and all others for that matter) should make louder horns standard.

When I lived in Denver, I rode the VMax which doesn't get as hot as our beloved R3s do, but the temperatures outside were just as hot. Now that I live on the East coast, I wish I could go back to having Denver style summer temps as our humidity out here is far worse. (The grass is always greener...)

I ride the R3T and mine has 47K miles so far-no vibrations like you call out. That worries me brother. I guess I haven't noticed others with this issue.

Thanks for sharing your insight. I enjoy riding the Rockies a lot and get better mileage up on the freeways there than here. Just be careful if you ride out to the Sprucewood Inn for a bite, those rocks will reach out and knock you off your bike when you least expect it...

HUMIDITY? IN DENVER??????????????

Oddly yes. I lived in Macon and Statesboro GA for 7 years (worked with an antique dealer on estates sales haulin stuff out to the buyers trucks) so I know about humidity...Oddly Denver summers have been steadily getting more and more humid over the last few years (or maybe it's the heat that's increased and the humidity stands out more). I work with a guy from Arizona who laughs at anyone who refers to Denver as a "high desert'. Nothing like the swamp I left mind you, but still noticeable. i got more fat too so that don't help any.

some have the vibrations and some don't
mine does. it was there at 6000 miles and just a little more at 36000.
my personal opinion is that it has a loose clutch drum and when u pull the clutch it centers that drum and that gets rid of the vibration. some will tell u that it is the little lifter that applies the clutch but i don't think that it is big enough to make it vibrate. u can not tighten the clutch to get rid of the problem because that will ruin your lifter and other parts. so now after 30000 mile i am almost used to it.

Humidity, yes, here in SW Florida, hot, and rains almost every afternoon, then it's a sauna bath. I keep my 2013 Rocket in my carport, covered. However, after a few minutes of riding, I get moisture/fog, on the inside of my speedo and tach. Will probably cause problems down the road, but unsure how to correct the problem?

Yep, I am with on the vibration. Been in my Roadster since new and others I have ridden. Same as you with very slight pressure on the clutch lever it disappears and smooth.
I have been happy to live with the condition, not really got any worse over the 28000km the bike has done. Maybe one day I will have the clutch hub nut retightened to see if that does the job.
