We lived in Maine when I was stationed on an Ocean Going Minesweeper back in the late 70s and heavy snow was the norm. By son is stationed at Aberdeen Proving Ground in MD and just got hammered with more to come. Our daughter is stationed at the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs and also got hit. And she transferred there from Florida.
I must say that Warp9.9s photos are quite beautiful. What a lovely area in which you live my friend I'd love to look out my back deck and see light forests, farms and fields, even if they were buried in snow.
We haven't seen significant snow in a few years but when we first moved here from Hawaii in 2003 we had a few snowy winters. This was Christmas 2008
And in 2012 after I had built my shop. My wife loved it but she doesn't have to shovel.
Boony; yikes! I had no idea it got that hot down under.
