excuse me for saying this, but your better half is cute even in the hospital nursing those ribs.

BTW, I broke 6 ribs through and through, plus a shattered scapula (shoulder blade) when I hit and cut a full grown doe in half about 10 years ago. Please tell your wife that it was a piece o' cake and that she'll be better than new before she knows it. Oh, yeah - also tell her do do all the breathing exercises the docs recommend and then some - it's important!

Gear looks like it took a lot of the damage, good planning there. Sorry it happened to your wife, but she looks like she's going to be ok inside and out. Plenty of good advice here already, be sure to heed. Let us know as to the cause please. Helmets are a good thing, see too many people riding without. Tuck her in at night, it's a very good feeling.
