"And this one is just right" ~ Goldilocks
Perfect day for a ride before meeting with my new girlfriend (a.k.a. second ex- wife)
for dinner. That’s another story. I was just getting to the start of where the road snakes along a river that happened to take out many houses when Helene roared through and flooded the area. As I went into a fairly normal curve something didn’t feel right- a little like riding a chopper (although I’ve never actually been on one). Just then the FOBO app indicated extreme low pressure on the rear tire. 11 pounds to be exact. I pulled over at the first house where some guys were sitting on their porch. Told them my problem and they welcomed me to pull further in. They got some soapy water and we finally located the leak. I plugged it and got as much air in as I could with my emergency electric pump. Fairly common occurrence, so what’s the point? I guess I just want to recognize that there are still good people out there willing and happy to help. Roger Fox is a Vietnam vet. His house was 14 feet under water just months ago. It’s a two story, so 3 feet in the main living area. His barn with all his tools, another structure, and his Arabian horse were all swept away. But still, he and his son helped me out. That’s the moral of the story, I guess and just felt like sharing. Gotta go now, she says dinner is ready….
