tach reset

I had to send my bike in for the charging system and they replaced the stator and regulator. I love it. It charges good now but it resets the tach every time I start the bike. It also has the problem with it stuttering at full throttle. If this has already been discussed please point me in the right direction. Thanks to all and ride on.

Uhhhh...

I believe that's normal for the tach to reset on startup. I could be wrong, I'll pay more attention this morning on my way out.

"resetting the tach" is not a phrase that I'm familiar with. Are you talking about resetting the odometer/tripmeter?

I'm assuming he's talking about the startup needle sweep.

If his odometer is resetting, he has a problem most of us can only dream about.

If it's a trip odometer reset, well that's an easy fix.

If their restetting that means your losing power to the gauge cluster. Check connectins and fuses.

While you guys are on the Tachometer topic Im going to ask a quick question, If my tach is not doing the sweep on startup but my speedo is am I in the initial stage of my ignition frying, If you push key in or wiggle a bit then everything works fine, also is this eastern beaver fix long term? thanks guys
