I have to question the idea that the battery juice level is the culprit. I've had several occassions where the cold soaked and tired battery was insufficient to start the bike but never was a second sweep encountered.
I've got to suspect a faulty ignition switch contact. This symptom is unusual but nothing is usual about ignition switch failure; there are many.
I've had the ignition switch replaced less that 6 months ago. I've very recently experienced new ignition switch symptoms unlike those of the past. These symptoms occurred several times over a three day period but have yet to reoccur again, over the most recent three days. Knock on wood.
