Stator/Rotor Removal

As did I.

Much appreciated Fred. I just might send the entire package out to be undercut as per your recommendation. I will need to see a pic of the spacer that needs removed. Thanks to all who helped. You guys are GREAT.

P.S. just bought the ecu. Again, it's for the touring but I think I just flash my old map.

If yours never got the update kit, it won't have the offending spacer. I'm not 100% sure, but thought the touring used a different ecu.

I found a complete gearbox assembly on ebay but it's out of a touring model. If anyone can confirm that it's the same, then I'll buy it ASAP.

They're the same. I picked up a complete Standard one to send out to Robinsons to be done. That way if mine has problems I'm ready to swap it out.

And the verdict is as Fred predicted. This is the snap ring that is hidden. Loose as can be. The other one was nice and tight.

I should start a new thread..."The 50 cent part that ****ed near killed me".

Check the snap ring and see if the square edge is facing away from the load.

OK, but gonna have to find my reading glasses first.

Before even that, let me make sure our terminology is on the same page. I've rebuilt engines before but this is my first time inside a transmission. Notice I purposely didn't say "inside a tranny". The part that the shiftings forks slide on the shaft are the DOGS?
